Help! What is this song???

I have a bit of a song stuck in my head and NO ONE can help me figure
out what it is..... I feel like it is a late 70's tune, sung by a solo
male voice, kind of a Steven Bishop-y sort of tone, maybe even a little
country flavored, though definitely from regular radio -- the piece of
lyric I have is --"wake me up in the middle of the night, let me know
everything's all right, ---- ----- ----- the moon, smile at me in the
middle of the day, let me know everything's okay, ---- ---- -----
perfume"

Anyone able to help me out? Thanks!

Saw your post. The song is "Romeo's Tune" by Steve Forbert. I have the
song but not the lyrics. If no one responds with the lyrics, I'll
transcribe them from the album (I only have it on vinyl.).
