How timely. Fishheads was on Much Music's Backtrax last Sunday.
It's by Barnes and Barnes...from 1980. I'll work on the lyrics from the
video if someone doesn't beat me to it. Insane tune.

The artists were known as "Barnes and Barnes". One of the two members was
actually Billy Mumy (the young boy in "Lost In Space").

I don't remember all of the lyrics, but one line sticks out in my mind...

"Roly poly fish-heads are never seen drinking cappucino in Italian
restaurants with Oriental women....Nahhh..."

Fishheads, Barnes and Barnes 1980

Fishheads fishheads, roly-poly fishheads.
Fishheads fishheads, eat them up...YUM!

Repeat chorus

In the morning, laughing happy fishheads.
In the evening, floating in the soup

Repeat chorus

Ask a fishhead anything you want to.
They won't answer, they can't talk.

Repeat chorus

I took a fishhead out to see a movie.
Didn't have to pay to get it in.

Repeat chorus

They can't play baseball, they don't wear sweaters.
They're not good dancers, they don't play drums.

Repeat chorus

Roly-poly fishheads are never seen drinking cappuccino
in Italian restaurants with Oriental women....Yeah.

Repeat chorus X 4

Man, I can't believe what interests me at 1:30 in the morning...

Excellente! I've been trying to remember who did that song for ages! The
album it's from is called VOOBAHA; I'm afraid I can only remember the 'chorus':

Fish-heads, Fishds,
Roly-poly fishds,
Fishds, fishds,
Eat them up, yum!

Ah, Fishheads!

"Fishheads, fishheads,
Roly-poly fishheads,
Fishheads, fishheads,
Eat them up, yum!"

There's also a part about, "I took a fishhead out to see a movie", but I can't
remember the rest. And then something like, "Fishheads are never seen
drinking cappuccino in Italian restaurants with Oriental women" (or something
like that).

Can't remember much else, but would you believe that one of the people
involved in making this song was Billy Mumy?!? Yes, from "Lost in Space"!

There's a very strange video for this, also.

It was by Barnes & Barnes. It can be found on several novelty records
(including Dr. D's 20th Aniv. album). The original album is a little more
dificult to come by.

*No*, Bevin, it is *not*.

Hopefully for the last time...

These novelty songs are not *by* Dr. Demento, they're *presented by*
him. Dr. Demento is the host of a radio show (syndicated) that features
novelty songs. He's widely known for discovering "Weird Al" Yankovic -
Al used to send tapes to the Dr.'s show, one of which was his first
single, "Another One Rides The Bus".

In the case of "Fishheads", the song is by Barnes and Barnes.

Yes, the FishHeads song is by Barnes & Barnes.
But Barnes & Barnes are really:

Mel Ferrer - Actor Jose Ferrer's son, who was in RoboCop I and various films &
TV series where he always plays a Heavy (bad guy) with
a receding hairline. [drummer]

Billy Mummy - Wil Robinson from Lost in Space. Lanier in Babylon 5, also a
partime comic book artist [guitarist]

They apparently grew up together & have been jamming together for years.

I also have a copy of the video for Fish Heads as it was shown on USA's Night
Flight many years ago. Hilarious!
