You can read the menu
But you just can't eat
You can feel the cushions
But you can't have a seat
Doctor says you're cured
But you can still feel the pain
You can feel the punishment
BUt can't get rid of the sin
Chorus:
And you want her
And she wants you
And no one, no one
No one ever is to blame
Greatly, greatly, appreciated!! Thanks all. Even just knowing the artist
would do me a great deal of good. Thank you again,

Noone is to Blame
by Howard Jones
You can look at the menu but you just can't eat
You can feel the cushion but you can't have a seat
You can dip your foot in the pool, but you can't have a swim
You can feel the punishment but you can't commit the sin
CHORUS:
And you want her, and she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her, and she wants you
No one, No one, No one ever is to blame
You can see the summit but you can't reach it
It's the last piece of the puzzle but you just can't make it fit
Doctor says you're cured, but you still feel the pain
Aspiration's in the clouds but your hopes go down the drain
(chorus)
>(chorus)
I've always liked this song, but can someone tell me what the heck he is
trying to say? Thanks.

No one else seems to be biting, so I'll try to go from memory. But a
warning - it has been a while since I've heard the song, so I may miss a
few lines.
"No One Ever Is to Blame"
Howard Jones
-------------------------
You can read the menu
But you just can't eat
You can feel the cushion
But you can't have a seat
You can dip your foot in the pool
But you can't have a swim
You can feel the punishment
But you can't commit the sin
Chorus:
And you want her
And she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her
And she wants you
No one, no one
No one ever is to blame
You can build the mansion
You just can't live in...
You're the fastest runner
But you're not allowed to win
Doctor says you're cured
But you still feel the pain
Aspirations in the cloud
But your hopes go down the drain
Chorus
You can see the summit
But you can't reach it
It's the last piece of the puzzle
But you just can't make it fit
So break the rules
And live to count the cost
The insecurity is the thing that won't get lost
Chorus ( twice, give or take.... )
----------------------------
I think that's everything. I may have to go buy it sometime...

Sorry, I'm still in the dark; could you expand a little? What isn't going to work out? A relationship? I understand
we all want each other, but what does that have to do with no one being to
blame?
Sorry, I'm really not as dense as it sounds.

Just my guess, but could he be saying that we are all frustrated in life
with unattainable goals, and this is part of the human condition, not
something someone "did" to us to make us unhappy?
