FORTUNES
That same old feeling
I still get the same old feeling
Tearing up this heart of mine
Telling me that maybe
I'm not really over you
I still get the same old yearning
Turning my heart inside out
Look there can't be any doubt
I'm still not over you
The oak tree where you carved my name
A year ago now
Somehow it doesn't look the same
I think it knows now
The places we would go
Still play the songs we used to know
I still get the same old feeling
Tearing up this heart of mine
Telling me that maybe
I'm not really over you
I still get the same old yearning
Turning my heart inside out
Look there can't be any doubt
I'm still not over you
The grotto where we used to meet
Is overgrown now
We'd dreamed we'd live there too someday
Just start our own now
The letters you wrote me
Still bring back sad old memories
I still get the same old feeling
Tearing up this heart of mine
Telling me that maybe
I'm not really over you
I still get the same old yearning
Turning my heart inside out
Look there can't be any doubt
I'm still not over you
I still get the same old feeling
Tearing up this heart of mine
Telling me that maybe
I'm not really over you
I still get the same old yearning
Turning my heart inside out
Look there can't be any doubt
I'm still not over you

Does anyone know what became of Polly Brown? Last I heard (and I mean about
20 years ago) she was extremely ill with a form of total allergy syndrome...
No, Polly never had Total Allergy Syndrome. That's another urban myth!
I think it was Maggie Farran (who briefly fronted a band in the mid
'70s called New Pickettywitch) who had that illness, certainly not
Polly. I don't know what came of Maggie, but last I heard (a year or
two ago), Polly was alive and well. She released solo recordings well
into the 80s on the independent Witch label. Some of these (together
with 'Puff of Smoke' and some Pickettywitch hits) appeared on an RPM
compilation CD in 1995 - 'Bewitched: The Polly Browne Story', and more
recently Polly had some involvement in the release of the Sanctuary CD
compilation 'That Same Old Feeling: The Complete Recordings' which
features all Pickettywitch's self-titled 1970 album as well as all
their A & B sides. Sleeve notes are great, and feature recent comments
from Polly. In fact both CDs are a must for Polly fans. There was talk
of Sanctuary releasing more of her solo recordings on CD for the first
time, but nothing's happened yet.
