I am searching for the song that contains these lyrics
(or something very close...)

I think it's from somewhere in the early 70s, and I
think it's british.
It is driving me CRAZY!!!

What a great song. That's Henry Gross. The song is called "Plug Me Into
Something" from the album of the same name.
