Thanks in advance
Ripp
Carnevil 9 (or something like that)
Welcome back my friends
to the show that never ends
We're so glad you could attend,
step inside, step inside
Right behind this glass
stands a real blade of grass
becareful as you pass
move along, move along
Come inside the show's about to start
Guarenteed to blow your head apart
Rest assured, you'll get your money's worth
Greatest show, in Heaven, Hell or Earth!
You gotta see the show
It's a dynamo
You gotta see the show
It's rock and roll!
Oh!
Right before your eyes
We'll pull laughter from the skies
And he laughs, until he cries
Then he dies, then he dies
Soon the Gypsy Queen
In a glaze of vaseline
Will perform (on?) gulitine
What a scene, what a scene!
Next upon the stand
Will you please extend a hand
to Alexander's (?) Ragtime band
Dixieland, Dixieland
Performing on a stool,
We've a sight to make you drool
Seven virgins and a mule!
Keep it cool, keep it cool.
We like it to be known,
The exhibits that were shown
were exclusively our own
All our own, all our own
Roll up
Roll up
Roll up
See the show!!

Actually, the song JimT9999 <jimt...@aol.com> posted in reply,
"Carnival 9", mentions a Gypsy Queen. I found many references to
an album and possibly a song called "Welcome Back My Friends"
by Emerson, Lake and Palmer, but no lyrics anywhere. Let's not forget
what the original posting asked for:
>I heard a song a while back. The first part of it goes: " WELCOME
>TO THE SHOW WON'T YOU COME ON IN..."
>Sounds to me it's a song about a circus.
These lyrics are not from any Who song that I can find and I have the
lyrics to all of their official albums thanks to this link:
There IS a song in "Tommy" which starts:
Welcome to the Camp
I guess you all know why we're here
My name is Tommy
and I became aware this year
From the last track, "We're Not Gonna Take It", but nothing about
"Welcome to the show."
Cheers,
TD
causing nothing but trouble here today! :-)
