That is "Danny's Song" by Kenny Loggins (Loggins and Messina, actually
recorded it, as did Anne Murray).

The original of this was titled "Danny's Song" and was done by Kenny
Loggins in 1969(?). Anne Murray later did part of it, if I remember
correctly she replaced a verse and possibly left another out.

And in the mornin, when I rise,
She brings a tear of joy to my eyes
and everything, everything is gonna be alright.....
Something like that.
Not quite. It's "Danny's Song", not "Annie's Song".
"Annie's Song" was the John Denver one that begins "You fill up my
senses...".
"Danny's Song" was written by Kenny Loggins in honor of his brother's
impending fatherhood. First verse begins "People smile and tell me I'm
the lucky one. We've just begun; think I'm gonna have a son." and the
chorus is as quoted above. Loggins performed it, with Jim Messina
SITTIN' IN, on the album of that title, and Anne Murray did the cover
which became the hit. (I prefer Ms. Murray's arrangement, but resent
her only including two of the four verses.)
There will be a short quiz on this material next week.
Happy Thanksgiving, and keep on singing,

Good gravy! I won't be here then. I'm deathly afraid.

Will anyone trust me after this?
