Does anyone know the third verse to Garth Brooks' Friends in low places? I
heard that he sang it at his concerts. If you know it, please send it to
sams...@vianet.on.ca

Thanx

Actually, if ya don't mind, I'd like to see them as well, so how about
posting them here as well?

Thanks!

On Sun, 6 Oct 1996, Brian Littlefield wrote:

Here they are:

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one you thought you'd see there
I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
I toasted you, said honey we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain

CHORUS
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases
My blues away, I'll be okay
Yeah, I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the Oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places

Well I guess I was wrong, I just don't belong
But then I've been there before
Everything's alright, I'll just say good night
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey I didn't mean to cause a big scene
Just give me and hour and then
I'll be as high as that ivory tower you're living in

CHORUS

enjoy.

Actually, the infamous third verse goes as follows:

Everything is alright, I'll just say good night
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey I didn't mean to cause a big scene
Just wait til I finish this glass
Then sweeth little lady I'll head back to the bar
And you can kiss my ass

CHORUS

There ya go!

<regular lyrics snipped>

The third verse he sings in concert is always close to the following:

Well I guess I was wrong

I just don't belong

But then, hell, I've been there before
Everything's all right
I'll just say goodnight and I'll show myself to the door
I didn't mean
To cause a big scene
Just wait till I finish this glass
And then pretty lady I'll go back to the bar
And you can kiss my ass!

That's it. He also adds another verse to "Thunder Rolls" that is
classic. It is in the concert footage on video, but I wish he would
include it on a CD.
