"Walk Away Renee" by Brown/Calilli/Sansone - Recorded by The Left Banke 7/66

And when I see the sign that... points one way...
The lot we used to pass by.... every day.

Just walk away, Renee.... You won't see me follow you back home.
The empty sidewalks on by block are not the same.... You're not to blame.

From deep inside the tears that... I force to cry...
From deep inside the pain that... I chose to hide.

Just walk away, Renee... You won't see me follow you back home.
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes... for me it cries.

(bridge instrumental)

Just walk away, Renee... You won't see me follow you back home.
Now the rain beats down upon my weary eyes.... for me it cries.

Your name and mine inside a heart upon the wall...
still finds a way to haunt me though they're so small.

Just walk away, Renee... You won't see me follow you back home.
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same... you're not to blame.

Additional info on "THE LEFT BANKE" and their songs:

1. "Walk away, Renee" was about his girlfriend, Renee Fladen... as was their
other songs "She May Call You Up Tonight" and "Pretty Ballerina"

2. The original group was Michael Brown (nee Lookofski), Steve Martin (a
talented vocalist who'd just relocated to New York from Madrid, Spain),
George Cameron and Tom Finn.

Hope this helps.....
