Great song. But this has bothered me for years: does anyone know the
significance (if any) of the snow turning into rain at the end?
Thanks,
Ted

Possibility - the snow could represent the innocence of what was lost, of
what they were remembering ("pure as the driven snow"), and its conversion
into rain at the end indicates the ending of that innocence and purity.
Or an ending to the reminiscing (?sp) and a return to reality. The rain
would also melt the snow that's on the ground.
My own $0.02, I always find rain - particularly in winter - much more
depressing than snow.
Just some thoughts,
Tir
