Hi-
I’ll take a stab at reproducing the lyrics to Wish You Were Here- this is
what I hear, anyway, when I listen to the album. If you get a better
interpretation, please let me know!

Blue sky from pain
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail
a smile from a veil
Do you think you can tell
Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts
hot ashes for trees hot air for a cool breeze
cold comfort for change
Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war
for the lead role in cage
How I wish how I wish you were here
We’re just two lost souls swimmin’ in a fish bowl year after year
Runnin’ over the same old ground and how we found the same old fears
Wish you were here

You got the majority of it, but I believe the line is
"Running over the same old ground, what have we found ? The same old
fears ... "

I always heard it as "...Running over the same old ground, but have we
found the same old fears?"
