Wasn't this by The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band? Let me know if AB & the
D's did it also...
Ray Crenshaw in SC (USA)
Its possible they may have done the song, but its not on their Greatest Hits on
Rhino: Tightening It Up: the Best of Archie Bell and the Drells, nor is it
mentioned by the CD NOW database.
I think the song you are thinking of is was a hit for Charles Wright & The
Watts 103rd St Rhythm Band. It was also sampled or used somehow by NWA.
I am also immdediately thought of a song that I thought was a Pointer Sisters
or Aretha Franklin hit "Respect Yourself" that goes something like "if you
dont respect yourself aint no body gonna give a good ga-hoot! =Respect
Yourself" Any one know the song I'm referring to here?
