I need to know the title of a song with the words "Romeo and
Juliet...Samsom and Delilah...." It's a recent song and I can't recall
the title or artist.

Song: "Fire" Artist: pointer sisters (I think)

"I'm drivin in your car
You turn on the radio
You're pullin me close
I just say no
I say I don't like it
But you know I'm a liar
'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire.

That's the first verse.

This sounds like a line from the Pointer Sister's 1979 song, "Fire".

hmmmm sounds familiar

Oh yah, Bruce Springsteen sang it and he may have written it and the Pointer
Sisters also sang it and I believe it is called 'Fire'.

Robin Williams did Elmer Fudd doing Bruce Springsteen singing "Fire". A very
funny rendition.

Hope this helps

Hi -
You've actually quoted the first lines from the third verse of "FIre"
recorded by the Pointer Sisters. Hope this is the song you're looking
for...

Take care

FIRE
The Pointer Sisters

I'm ridin' in your car, you turn on the radio
You're pullin' me close, I just say no
I say I don't like it, but you know I'm a liar

'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire

Late at night, you're takin' me home
You say you wanna stay, I say I wanna be alone
I say I don't love you, but you know I'm a liar

'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire

BRIDGE
You had a hold on me right from the start
A grip so tight I couldn't tear it apart
My nerves all jumpin', actin' like a fool
Well, your kisses they burn, but my heart stays cool...

Well, Romeo and Juliet, Samson and Delilah
Baby you can bet a love they couldn't deny
My words say split, but my words they lie

'Cause when we kiss, ooh, fire

LEAD BREAK
BRIDGE
LAST VERSE

Ooh fire...
Kisses like fire...
Burn me up like fire...etc

i think the song you are thinking of is called "fire." it begins

i'm driving in my car
i turn on the radio
i pull you close
but you just say no
you say you don't like it
but i know you're a liar
cause when we kiss.... oooohhh..
fire...

i'm not sure who wrote it originally but i know bruce springsteen was one of
the early folks who did it-- it may be his-- from the patti smith era.

the romeo and juliet/ samson and delilah comes in a later verse, the words to
which i don't remember, sorry.

peace,
ellen

MACK THE KNIFE
Music by Kurt Weill
German lyrics by Bert Brecht
English lyrics by Marc Blitzstein

Oh, the shark has pretty teeth, dear
And he shows them pearly white
Just a jack-knife has MacHeath, dear
And he keeps it out of sight

When the shark bites with his teeth, dear
Scarlet billows start to spread
Fancy gloves, though, wears MacHeath, dear
So there's not a trace of red

On the sidewalk Sunday morning
Lies a body oozing life
Someone's sneaking 'round the corner
Is the someone Mack the Knife

From a tugboat by the river
A cement bag's dropping down
The cement's just for the weight, dear
Bet you Mackie's back in town

Louie Miller disappeared, dear
After drawing out his cash
And MacHeath spends like a sailor
Did our boy do something rash

Sukey Tawdry, Jenny Diver
Polly Peachum, Lucy Brown
Oh, the line forms on the right, dear
Now that Mackie's back in town

THIS IS THEM

Oh, the shark has pretty teeth, dear

And he shows them pearly white.
Just a jack knife has Macheath, dear
And he keeps it out of sight.

When the shark bites with his teeth, dear

Scarlet billows start to spread.
fancy gloves, though, wears Macheath, dear
So there's not a trace of red.

On the side-walk Sunday morning

Lies a body oozing life;

Someone's sneaking 'round the corner.
Is the someone Mack the Knife?

From a tugboat by the river
A cement bag's dropping down;

The cement's just for the weight, dear.
Bet you Mackie's back in town.

Louie Miller disappeared, dear
After drawing out his cash;

And Macheath spends like a sailor.
Did our boy do something rash?

Sukey Tawdry, Jenny Diver,

Polly Peachum, Lucy Brown
Oh, the line forms on the right, dear

Now that Mackie's back in town.
