I'm with you and you're with me
And so we are off together
So we are off together
I'm with you and you're with me
And so we are off together
Marching as to war
We are marching to Pretoria
Pretoria, Pretoria
We are marching to Pretoria
Pretoria, Hoorah
At least that's how I think it went. I remember the tune better than the
words. We sang it in grade school. I think it might have been one of
those "socially significant" sort of songs. Possibly something was going
on in Pretoria at the time...
As well as I can remember the title was Marching to Pretoria

I think The Smothers Brothers do a song like that in their act.
Since they did a lot of parodies, it might be based on an old
folk song. Take a listen to the song on "Sibling Revelry"
available from Rhino Records.

Well, the song, I believe, was a folk song about civil rights. If I
am not mistaking, which I may be, Pretoria was in South Africa. I'll
have the words up in about a day but in the mean time, the version I
am most familiar with was sung by the Weavers so you might also be
able to find it under a Peter Seeger album. Again, give me a day and
I'll have more info for you!
