I have a song in my head I can't figure out who did it. It was written by
Irving Berlin and sung by several different artists. I have one in my head from
probably late 50s or early 60s.

Lyrics are:

I'll be loving you
Always
With a love that's true
Always

Not for just an hour
Not for just a day
Not for just a year
But always.....always

This particular version, was a male and he sang the last part

But Al-al-al -al al way-hays.

Any help would be great!

Thanks.

(snip)

According to Lyrics World, the following artists
had top 40 hits called Always":

Air Supply
Atlantic Starr
Bon Jovi
Cover Girls
Erasure
Ink Spots
Gordon Jenkins
Sammy Kaye
Paul Lavelle
Guy Lombardo
Sammy Turner

I know some of these are obviously the wrong one --
but maybe one's the right one.

Yep! Just happen to have it...

ALWAYS
Irving Berlin 1925

-(intro)-
Everything went wrong,
And the whole day long
I'd feel so blue.
For the longest while
I'd forget to smile,
Then I met you.
Now that my blue days have passed,
Now that I've found you at last...

-(refrain)-
I'll be loving you always.
With a love that's true always.
When the things you've planned,
Need a helping hand.
I will understand, always.
Always.
Days may not be fair, always,
That's when I'll be there, always.
Not for just an hour, not for just a day,
Not for just a year, but always.

For me , a great version of this song is with Willie Nelson. I“m not
sure but you can find it in the Nelson“s album 'Stardust'.
Really, a great song!
