The song goes: I'll never get married, never get married, you know that's not
for me, but a girl like you needs to be married.......so baby it's the worst
that could happen to me

What's the title and who sang it?

Thanks so much!

The title is "Worst That Could Happen" and the Brooklyn Bridge did it in
12/68. Lead singer was Johhny Maestro of the Crest's "Sixteen Candles"
fame.

It's definitely by Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, and I think
the title is "Worst That Could Happen."

That's one of my personal Top Ten Awful Songs That I Really Like Anyway (grin).

...and it's a great one for singing along with in the car when you're
cruising down the highway ... you know, so that the people in other
cars give you those really STRANGE looks ... ?

Title: "The Worst That Could Happen"
Composer: the great Jim Webb
It was performed originally by the Fifth Dimension, about 1966, on the LP "The
Magic Garden" (later re-issued as "The Worst That Could Happen"). The cover
version by The Brooklyn Bridge featuring Johnny Maestro, 1967 (I think) was the hit
single.

Sing and the world sings with you,

And - "Worst That Could Happen" was written by Jim Webb and, I
believe done on a 5th Dimension LP before the Brooklyn Bridge
version. BTW Johnny Maestro & Brkln Bdg just did a great show in
Long Beac (CA) a couple weeks ago.
