"1979"

shakedown 1979, cool kids never have the time
on a live wire right up off the street
you and I should meet
junebug skipping like a stone
with the headlights pointed at the dawn
we were sure we'd never see an end to it all
abd I don't even care to shake these zipper blues
and we don't know
just where our bones will rest
to the dust I guess
forgotten and obsorbed into the earth below
double cross the vacant and the bored
they're not sure just what we have in stroe
morphine city slippin dues down to see
that we don't even care as restless as we are
wee feel the pull in the land of a thousand guilts
and poured cement, lamenated and assured
to the lights and towns below
faster than the speed of sound
faster than we thought we'd go, beneath the
sound of hope
justine never knew the rules,
hung down with the freaks and the ghouls
no apologies ever need be made, I know you
better than you fake it
to see that we don't care to shake these
zipper blues
and we don't know just where our bones will rest
to dust I guess
gorgotten and absorbed into earth below
the street heats the urgency of sound
as you can see there's no on around

Section 1- INTRO.
--------------------------------------------------------
It's a wrap!

We finally got the lyrics to the only TOP 50 song for
the WINTER 96 we were missing.

We searched the whole WEB for homepages for KRIS KROSS.
We found six of them. But none of them had the lyrics
to TONITE'S THA NIGHT. Out of the six, we chose the
one that seemed the most friendly, and we wrote an
e-note asking for the lyrics. On the same day, we got
a reply from Edward J Knittel <sex...@CMU.EDU>.

He was really nice and he explained to us that the
lyrics he was sending were his personal transcription, so
there might be some mistakes.

We thank you, Edward, in the name of our thousands of
readers.

Section 2- SCOOP
Lyrics to a song most likely to be a hit in the future
--------------------------------------------------------
SOME BRIDGES (n/b)
Jackson Browne
Album: Looking East

Source: Late Show with Jay Leno (Feb. 15)

Every day I walk out in this torn-up world
And I fight to survive, I'm laughing
When I make it to the Saturday and I'm alive

1-Carrying your smile with me
Carrying your smile with me, Oh yeah

Everywhere I look I see this world slippin' down
That low road day by day
And I just go on working for the things I need
Making my own way
(repeat 1)

Take a walk on the troubled side of this old town
Take a walk on the broken streets
And the buildings falling down
Look at all these kids with nothing
But trouble in their eyes
Trouble in their futures, trouble in their lives

Some bridges are falling down
Some bridges are still around
Every night I listen to the sound of the street
Lying in my bed
I love to see the dreams that are dancing there
In the lights above your head
And sometimes I get so weary and when hope is caving in
You fill me with your love and your laughter, baby
Until I get back up again

Carrying your smile with me
Take a walk on the streets of this divided town
Carrying your smile with me
Take a walk on the smoking edge of the battleground
Carrying your smile with me
Take a look at the situation, poverty and the desperation
Take the time for realization
Every day I'm -- take a walk in the day light
Carrying your smile with me
Some bridges are falling down
Carrying your smile with me
Some bridges are still around
Carrying your smile with me...

Section 4- ASKING FOR HELP
Answers to our pleas for help from our dedicated readers
--------------------------------------------------------
TONITE'S THA NIGHT (n/b)
Kris Kross
Album: Young, Rich and Dangerous

Source: Edward J Knittel <sex...@CMU.EDU>

Shhhhhhhhh
Kris Kross........... 9 to 5
yeah...........
Who gotcha open, scopin' out tha track
It's no other than the sounds of the Daddy Mac
Still slackin' back-packin' up my turf
Cause after me was a factor real worse at the worst
Stompin', jumpin' wanna-be's
But ever however there's only one M-A-C
-say what-
Me and Daddy for the big picture
Ways of gettin' richer, Mister quick to hit your sister

I'm rollin' in the Green County all chrome
I sling brothers on the deck on my cellular phone
I'm just loungin', leather, sound all around
And a dip on the other end wanna put me down
Now no hesitation I hops to it
See it ain't easy bein' a Mac but somebody gotta do it
True, it's usually not represented right
But I'm the M-A-C-D-A-double D-Y and tonight's tha night

1-Please, my whole crew makes G's
Tonight's tha night, baby, so blow up on these
Tonight, tonight' is tha night

(repeat 1)

Tonight's tha night I call up all the girls
I used to go to school with,
Fool with, and all the Niggas that I'm cool with
Let 'em all know that my mom is gone
And it will be tomorrow before she comes back home

Ding-dong it's on, Nigga say no more
I'm with a truck full of women so just open tha door
Cause, yo, we came here to party
Gitty crunk, get drunk and leave your house with somebody
True, that some homies don't bring your main misses
Cause it's real deal mackin' when it comes to the Chris's
And this could be your very last time seein' her
One look at me and you better believe that I be ge'in' her

So come along or don't come at all -why-
Cause it's real big pimpin' at this playa's ball
True, it's usually not represented right
But with me it's all to the G and tonight's tha night
(rpt 1, 1)

Section 5- REQUESTS
--------------------------------------------------------
NAKED (n/b)
Goo Goo Dolls
Album: A Boy Named Goo

Source: From CC MUSIC VIDEO

Yeah, I'm fadin', and I call out
Never been, never felt
Never thought I'd say a word

Yeah, I'm fadin', and I call out
No one hears me, never been, never felt
Never thought I'd say a word

1-Weighed, down, safe, now
You're naked inside your fear
You can't take back, all those years
And shots in the dark from empty guns
Are never heard by anyone
Never heard by anyone

Yeah, I'm hiding in the fallout
Now I'm wasted they don't need me, don't want me
Don't hear a word I say
(repeat 1)

Inside, your head
No one's there, and I don't think
I'll ever be, and I don't care
(rpt...1)

By anyone...

SECTION 6- FH: SONG OF THE YEAR, 1995 (TOP 100 Lyrics)
--------------------------------------------------------
THANK YOU (n/b)
Boyz II Men
Album: II

Source: From a posting on alt.music.lyrics

I like this..I like this..

I was young and didn't have nowhere to run
I needed to wake up and see (and see)
What's in front of me (na-na-na)

There has to be a better way (sing it again)
A better way to show I'm grateful, hmm

2-So I thought up this song, uh, to show my appreciation
For lovin' me so long
You don't know how much you mean to me

1-'Cause even though when times got rough
You never turned away, you were right there
And I thank you, thank you

When I felt I had enough you never turned away
You were right there and I thank you, thank you

All through my life I knew that you'd be my world
Knowing everywhere I go things you taught me
They would show

So many times and changes you've seen me through
I sure enough couldn't have survived without you
(rpt 2, 1, 1)

I like this...
