1. How many relationships has he had in the past?
Luis has acknowledged that he has been "in love/infatuated" many
times, but only admits to three "real loves" up to this point in his
life. He didn't elaborate, but most people feel that Mariah is one of
those great loves. It's hard to put a number on how many
relationships, because some of them have been inventions of the
press, wishful thinking on the part of certain women, or friendships -
yes, "friendships" and not romantic involvements. I'm talking about
people like Salma Hayek, Rebecca de Alba, etc. Sofia Vergara has
always maintained that she and Luis are just friends, but there were
stories that at least initially, he had a romantic involvement with
her. Luis has always been very private about his personal
relationships. He said that in the past, he used to "defend himself"
when people would print lies or make up stories about him in the
press, but he quickly realized that he would spend all of his time on
this, and has chosen to remain quiet about it. He has also said that
he feels it is disrespectful to the relationship and the person to
talk about it public ally.
2. What sort of women did he date before? Only latin women or what?
Luis has dated all sorts of women, but most of them have been
actresses, models, "beauty queens", even professional athletes (he
once dated a tennis player). There were a few non-Latin women, but
for the most part, they have been Latin, or Spanish speaking. The
thing that was different with Mariah was that she was the first women
who was his equal in terms of her profession and fame.
#. Why didn't he marry any of these women?
Luis's career has always been the most important thing to him, and he
himself admitted that his constant travel and his need to devote so
much time to his work has harmed certain relationships because he
couldn't devote himself to both a career and a relationship. He once
said that the words "marriage and children" weren't even in his
vocabulary, but later softened that stance by saying that he "didn't
discount the possibility."
3. Was Mariah the most serious relationship he had or was she like
all the others?
Yes, she was definitely the most serious one. He was much more open
about his relationship with her, right from the beginning. With
previous relationships, he became annoyed if the press photographed
him walking or holding hands! - with MC he didn't seem to care if
they videotaped them kissing, dancing, hugging. During his concert
in Quilmes, Argentina, in Dec 1999 he brought her up on stage, sang
to her and kissed her in front of a crowd of 30-40,000 fans. And of
course, who can forget what took place in Marbella, Spain last
April? They not only allowed the press to photograph/video them on
the boat, but they were also "caught" in a candid moment at a
restaurant dining with friends. Luis was caressing her ear, and
kissed her on the cheek - until MC noticed that they had been
followed by the press. When they returned to the U.S. he left a
message on Mariah's website. Even though she never said it was him,
all the Luis fans recognized that voice, and that laugh. It was a
real treat for us fans. Most definitely, his relationship with
Mariah was unlike any other he had in the past.
4. What happened with Daisy Fuentes? Why did they break-up? because
I read that he was with her for almost 5 years.
Daisy never made any public statements about their breakup. In fact,
she told one interviewer with TVyNovelas. "I never spoke about him
when we were together, so why should I talk about him now?". From
comments by people who were around them, it was a stormy, tempestuous
relationship. She was possessive and jealous. There were long
absences due to his work. There were rumors that she was verbally and
physically abusive to him. Reportedly, they were "off and on" for
about five years, but the last breakup, in 1998, was the final one.
According to some reports, she (Daisy) fully expected Luis to return
to her but she didn't count on Luis meeting Mariah and falling so
completely in love with her.
5. How many times did he break-up with Mariah in the past and why?
How many "real breakups" or how many times did the US and Latin
press/media say they broke up? Like any couple, they've had their
good and bad times, but the only real "separation" occurred in
January, 2001. Luis left Aspen to fly to New York City with his
manager Alexandro Asensi and a friend from Argentina Polo Martinez.
Mariah stayed behind to look after her manager Louise, who had been
injured in a skiing accident. Much was made of the fact that they
spent New Year's eve apart from each other. Polo announced on an
Argentine talk show that when Luis returned to Aspen to meet up with
Mariah, she was angry with him for leaving, he was angry with her for
not going to NYC with him, and they separated. Luis went to Acapulco,
Mariah stayed in Aspen, and then holidayed (without Luis) in Puerto
Rico. was when they spent New Year's apart, and Luis's friend Polo
Martinez announced on an Argentine talk show that they had argued
over various things (like marriage and kids) . A couple of weeks
later Mariah's publicist Cindy Berger said that they had not broken
up, and a couple of weeks after that, we once again saw them together
in Beverly Hills. After the "Eminem incident" there was once again
talk of a break up, again denied by MC and her publicist.
The last time that Cindy denied any "official breakup" was when
Mariah was hospitalized. In August of 2001 Cindy made a statement to
the Latin press that "if they decide to break up you will hear it
officially from Mariah or me." Unfortunately, in November of 2001,
it was Luis who made the "official announcement" at his press
conference in Miami.
6. Last question, If two people really loved each other that much,
then why would they let anything come in between them?
Any relationship can be difficult, but when you consider the fact
that these two people have very demanding careers, have had difficult
things happen to them in the past regarding family and in Mariah's
case, a failed marriage,add to that the pressures of living your love
life under the harsh glare of the media (American and Latin), it's a
wonder that they survived as long as they did. They overcame cultural
barriers because they recognized that they had a connection that went
beyond language and musical tastes. In Mariah's own words, they
were "emotionally compatible."
What went wrong? I think at some point MC put too much emphasis on
her career and neglected her personal life and personal
relationships, she admitted to as much herself. At one point, I think
MC wanted to settle down and get married, have kids, but Luis didn't.
And then, I think Luis wanted commitment, marriage, kids, but Mariah
wasn't ready. Bad timing? Misunderstanding? Hurt feelings? Too much
pressure from outside influences? All of the above? We don't know,
and given the fact that neither of them has made public statements
about this, we may never know. It is interesting to note, however,
that when rumors surfaced about Mariah going to Mexico for a brief
vacation in late February of this year, her office in New York
commented to a Mexican journalist that "we never officially
recognized the fact that Mariah and Luis broke up." Call me a
hopeless romantic, but I still hold out hope that these two
will "find themselves in love, once again."

As latin, I´ve "known" luis before I said "mom". Luis Miguel never had
an official girlfriend, but for the past 10 years he´s had the
official lover, Sofia Vergara. Now, everyone´s "no! they are friends"
and I say kiss my ass cause they are both 30ish, and everytime he
broke up with some girlfriend next thing you see are they kissing in
some yatch. Also, everytime he´s been in Argentina (he came about 20
times in the past 10 years? maybe more) u hear "this model spent the
night with him after her sister spent the evening with him" "the group
of 10 dancers and 5 actresses and luis miguel had a party till 8 am"
even famous actresses where spotted living his suit at 3 am when he
was "involved" with either salma hayek or daisy fuentes or even,
Mariah. Yes. But you say, those are all rumors? Well, I´ve seen
pictures of this actresses living the "party" but everyone´s
skeptical. Weve seen pictures of Sofia Bergara leaving the yatch in
Miami at 3am just 10 hours before Mariah was arriving and later
sharing the same yatch with him, still she´s just a "friend".
When they where together and they asked Mariah she simply smiled with
a "I LOVE HIM" face and would say "yeah but i don´t wanna talk much
about it" or "yes thank you" or @#%$ but at least SOMETHING; instead
he never said ANYTHING, well actually he said "girlfriend, children,
marriage are not in my vocabulary" so I say @#%$ him! Everyone´s so
"aww poor luis Mariah put her carrer first" but what about her? Nobody
knows when in YOUR family your aunt and uncle get divorce the real

Did anyone see last week the TV show "Last Call" w/ Carson Daly? I saw
Sofia on it, and I came out of it thinking there is NO WAY, Luis could
look at her as anything BUT a friend, she is not on the same mature
level and that makes as much sense as some the crazy pairing that
other here have played into with Luis' ex's.

Luis Miguel and love Mariah Carey are in Oaxaca. Yesterday the couple
arrived together for a tour of the archaeological zone of Monte Alban
in the historical center of Ocotlan de Morelos,. The famous stars are
expected to take in Oaxaca's tourist attractions and enjoy a few days
of rest in the verdant ancient oasis. Few were made aware of their
arrival. The interpreter `Amor,amor,amor',
Cuando Calienta el Sol', `Tu Me Acostumbraste', among others, arrived
at 6 PM last Tuesday aboard his white Lear jet from Toluca, Mexico.
Luis disembarked first. (Obviously to throw off lurking paparazzi).
His Mariah disembarked next and together they jumped into the black
Suburban waiting at the foot of stairs. The SUV has a capacity of 8
passengers. Prior to their arrival, reservations for 15 rooms were
made at three different area hotels but the Mexican singer opted for
one in a residential zone of San Felipe del Agua where the hotel
personnel confirmed having held reservations since Tuesday night.
At the airport terminal, his security crew solicited the aid of
theAirport Security and Civil Aeronautic Command to allow access to
the ramp where the jet would park for the two vehicles that would
transport the couple and their bodyguards to the town center.

It is "important" to note that Evamaria expresses --doubts-- that it
actually is Mariah. She says, it's obviously a blond resembling MC.
She fails to mention which Mexican paper the article is from. I, on
the other hand think it is very possibly Mariah. The couple knows the
hostility the Latin press has towards her, which was intensified by
their very public breakup. The Mexican public is VERY protective of
their beloved "Sun", as they refer to Luis and make no bones about
their desire that Luis marry Latin! It is very possible the two are
trying to reconcile but Luis wants to protect Mariah from the vicious
media...they're flying below the radar this time around. Bear in mind
Mariah was with him in Guadalajara when LM opened his series of
concert dates for Mexico,but she remained in the limo as Luis
practised. Let's see what
images the Mexican media manage to scare up in the next week.

Luis wrote a song that is supposed to be about Daisy Fuentes called
"Sol Arena Y Mar" about the same time. Daisy was MUCH more of his
girlfriend and for a lot longer time than Sofia Vergara. Besides, the
timing is better for it to be Daisy. He put out "Amarte es un Placer"
which is the CD that "Sol, Arena, y Mar" is on about when Mariah was
releasing her version of the story in "ex-girlfriend". Both versions
are pretty hard on the "EX"

I sure hope now that j.lo is dumping yet another man, Mickey doesn't
get messed up with her. If I recall way back when Mariah Carey press
first started the press said the Lopez thought she would make a better
pair for Luismi than Mariah because she know how to speak Spanish or
something like that. I really wonder about the "Lopez family" when jlo
gets her Mother on Oprah fronting the lie of her marriage, when Oprah
even told her she didn't need to talk about her personal life, but she
went and lied anyways. I think even P.Diddy is to good for her!

We would like to send or most sincere condolences to Mariah Carey for
the recent loss of her father.

Condolences to Mariah Carey. The "Glitter" star lost her father,
Alfred, to cancer.
He died on July 4 at his New York home.
The singer flew back from the Italian island of Capri last month to be
with her dad during the final stages of his illness.
"She's grateful that she had a chance to spend these weeks with him,"
her rep told us.
Alfred, an engineer, and his wife, Patricia, a singer, divorced in
1973, when Mariah was 3. Though they were once estranged, in recent
years they grew close again.
Mariah returned to Capri on Sunday to continue recording her first CD
for Universal Music. Her rep said a memorial service is being planned.
