I've been trying to find an answer to this question for
a while. I too am a big fan of Loreena's music. I have
(so far) Parallel Dreams, Elemental, The Visit, Mask and
Mirror and Book of Secrets. But, what I'm really looking
for is one song in particular. It is the song that sung
in the EZ Streets pilot during the scene that closes with
Quin visitng his father and continues on to Danny watching
his daughter as she is picked up by "Shirt" at the playground.
The lyrics begin:

I have waited long for you to come back home...

Does anyone know the title of this particular song and if
it is available on any of her available recordings? I have
not been able to find it and I'm hoping someone with more
resources can help me.

Please e-mail me if you can help.... thanks...

While Loreena did most of the "music videos" on EZ STREETS,
this particular song is by Caroline Lavelle. It's called
"Moorlough Shore" and is on her CD called "Spirit." I have a
copy, which I special ordered from my record store. It's on
the label is N-Gram - Discovery and is distributed by Warner
Music UK Limited.

The URL is: http://musicbase.co.uk/music/orbit/

"Spirit" is one fine CD, but none of the other songs quite
reaches the quality of "Moorlough Shore," IMHO.

Another EZ fan! Wasn't that show sublime? And while DUE
SOUTH was my intro to LK, EZ really got me out there to
collect ALL her work.

A while back, I put together a list of the songs used in 'EZ Streets'. I'm
almost positive that this is a complete list. Also, I tried to list them in
order of their first appearance in the show, but I'm less certain about my
accuracy there. At any rate:

1. Moorlough Shore -- Caroline Lavelle, "Spirit"
2. Against the Wind -- Maire Brennan, "Maire"
3. The Mystic's Dream -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Mask and Mirror"
4. The Old Ways -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Visit"
5. Bonnie Portmore -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Visit"
6. Santiago -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Mask and Mirror"
7. Huron 'Beltane' Fire Dance -- Loreena McKennitt, "Parallel Dreams"
8. The Two Trees -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Mask and Mirror"
9. Cymbeline -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Visit"
10. The Seeds of Love -- Loreena McKennitt, "A Winter Garden"
11. Let All That Are To Mirth Inclined -- Loreena McKennitt, "To Drive the
Cold Winter
Away"
12. Full Circle -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Mask and Mirror"
13. Prospero's Speech -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Mask and Mirror"
14. Ancient Pines -- Loreena McKennitt, "Parallel Dreams"
15. Snow -- Loreena McKennitt, "To Drive the Cold Winter Away" and "A Winter
Garden"
16. Courtyard Lullabye -- Loreena McKennitt, "The Visit"
17. Sleep Now -- Caroline Lavelle, "Spirit"

The song you asked about is 'Moorlough Shore' and is played both at the
opening of the pilot and towards the end, when the 'flashback' comes full
circle.

'Sleep Now' is used at the end of "Neither Have I Wings To Fly", the last
filmed episode of the series which was never aired. This episode also
featured Mike Starr's singing of what seems to be an Irish lullabye.

The last episode features the wild and crazy funeral of Mickey's father. Mickey
(Mike Starr) breaks into an excellent rendition of the Irish ballad
"Carrickfergus." The episode's title, "Neither Have I Wings to Fly," is a
reference to lyrics in that song. There's a very different performance of
"Carrickfergus" on LM's early album "Elemental."

BTW, in the scene where Quinn chases his partner's shooter, in the EZ pilot,
they're playing Maire Brennan's "Against the Wind." "Huron Beltaine Fire Dance"
is heard in the EZ episodes "A Terrible Beauty" and "St. Jude Took a Bullet."
"Dark Night of the Soul" never turned up on EZ as far as I can recall.

So, Dennis, when did they play "The Two Trees" on EZ?

Actually, this might be a mistake. The list that I posted was from a
songlist put together for an 'EZ Streets' mix tape that I made for some
people. The tape was made a while back, but I may have put 'The Two Trees'
in just to fill out the tape length. My VCR is out-of-whack right now, so I
can't check if the instrumental bits were used for any of the city shots.

The rest of the list looks right, though.
