Manufacturing Defect on "Lightning Crashes"

Just after the instrumental break on "Lightning Crashes" on the Throwing
Copper Cd the volume dips way down when Ed starts to sing again, then
gradually comes back up. The version I hear on the radio doesn't have
this problem. I've checked with others who own the cd and they have the
same problem.
Has a corrected version of the disc been produced?

It actually isn't a defect...believe it or not

Its an effect that Chad T uses on his guitar (Univibe?), which has that
fading sound. If you
listen carefully the sound fades from left to right. I think it sounds
quite cool.

in the cd medium, you can use the great dynamics of QUEIT and LOUD to
make things sound better, but on radio, they run everything through
a compressor that pumps everything to the same level, so it has
immediate impact all through the tune...they use this on adverts too,
if you've noticed how loud tv ads are compared to the programmes....
its not actually louder as such, but just constantly at a high level,
compared to the programmes where it can get loud and soft....
