an
Very small turnout - which meant a supercool experience for the attendees in
attendance.

Friday night: Horrendous winds and clouds whipping through the valley - had
to wear all of my clothes at once.

Weapon of Choice - Funky excellence Nutmeg needed warm armpits to keep
fingers from freezing on steel strings.

Old Fashioned Beatdown - appropriately aggressive.

The Strikers - How does an acoustic fretless bass do that?

40 Cycle Hum - Crowd favorite - voted best party bus too. Contributing to
delinquency where ever it is needed.

Very late Friday night: Someone was slapping me in the face - oh, that was
my tent.

Very early Saturday morning: The LA comedians who couldn't find hotel rooms
had enough of sleeping in their cars, came looking for coffee in the chicken
shack. Cracked us up waiting for the coffee machine. I don't think they're
able to turn it off. Burger and the fat man - I guess that's their names.

Saturday: Indian drumming and San Diego bands started the day.
The techno tent had had enough of the weather and packed up.

Blackbirds and Chi Club had some good jams.

Compass Rose was mellow.

Leldon had some audio problems.

Tom Freund channeled some Neil Young and introduced a saxophone.

Al Howard +K23 rapped and borrowed that saxophone.

Velveteen Robot had a new bass.

Interstate Blues channeled some Robin Trower and made some really big noise.
A powerful trio.

Vegetation had such a Rastafari vibe that I caught it and had to get in my
sleeping bag to listen to the rest.

I kept waking up and hearing death metal, or was that part of a dream? A
very loud, dangerous dream.

Sunday morning: The coffee machine was not operating. Close to collapse I
had to pack up the tent and go search for stimulants. The Ranchita store
had 6 pots going. Fortified, I was able to return to my shallow existence
in the city. KLOS was breakfasting with the Beatles, 91X resurrecting the
80's, 94.9 was brunching with Bob Marley. Bob made the sun and the
automobiles bearable.

This was an ambitious event - maybe it will be back!
