Did anyone else see the "Saturday Early Show" on CBS this morning?? I
usually watch it low-volume while I read the paper. There is a segment
called 'Second Cup of Coffee' that features musical entertainers. I thought
I was hearing a familiar voice so I looked up. Russ Mitchell, the co-host,
was talking to Art Garfunkel and was asking about, I think, plans for a
Simon & Garfunkel reunion tour. Art took kind of an uncomfortable "gee, I
don't want to talk about this, how in the world did you hear that?" stance
and squirmed through a non-comittal answer. I turned up the volume in time
to hear October and November. Then he went right into his song.
Is this a new/old rumor or could it be true? Anybody know?

According to the folks at alt.music.paul-simon, there's a good possibility
it will happen, maybe even as soon as October or Novermber.
Go over there and take a look. There's a lot of discussion about it.

Sheila - MSNBC is reopoting tentative plans for a fall tour, playing
arenas. http://www.msnbc.com/news/928267.asp

AG's website mentions it, PS's does not. So I'd say it's a definite

Thanks, Cathy. I went over there but after your experience I was a little
timid. I was sure they would know I was invading 'their space' and would
attack. I stayed very, very quiet but read the posts. Not everybody over
there is enthused by the possibility of a brief reunion. While I was there
I 'read around' and found that they aren't a terribly cordial bunch! I'll
stay over here, thank you!

Thanks for the link, Annie. Based on the MSNBC article I'm guessing that
the co-host this morning was trying to get a scoop. He's a nice guy but
he's also in the news business so...why not take a crack at it? I'm also
wondering if Art Garfunkel's reaction to the question was an act. He had to
know he was going to be asked.

The majority of them are okay. They're a lot like we are, very dedicated to
their favorite artist. There are just three that cause most of the problem.
I think I cleared the air, though. They've been much nicer to newcomers. Go
ahead and post. I don't think they'll bother you.

I saw a short blurb in either the Dallas or Fort Worth paper that said the
same thing. Not any detail, just that they'd be touring.
