Check out the January 2002 edition of the Martin Guitar Company's semi-annual
newsletter, The Sounding Board. In the letters section, you'll find a
wonderful note from our own Duff Ortman. There is a photo of Duff with his
trusty D18GL (#61 of 61, and a lefty to boot!), and a wonderful letter.
Believe me, if this letter doesn't move you, nothing will. Congrats, Duff! :)

get a text version as well)
It seemed like the perfect forum to say thanks to both Gord and Martin at the
same time. And, as Val well knows, the lefty version of the D-18GL almost
didn't come to pass! Jay, now 19, is serving in the military overseas. I have
a treasured video of Jay and Gord backstage in Louisville in 1995. Often times
someone touches our lives in ways which make the debt impossible to repay.
That simple gesture on Gord's part back in 1992 was such a blessing. As you
well know, the man behind the music is genuine.
