Nice poem, for sure. Did you see my posts a couple of weeks ago about
the Leonard Cohen birthday festivities here? We had a great time, and
shot video, but I hestitate to post any of the Cohen covers we
performed, without his permission.

I have video from last week when the Shadowville All-Stars did a set
of his songs for a birthday tribute... being covers, of course, I
don't feel right putting them up, although I'm tempted. I sang "Famous
Blue Raincoat", "Hey That's No Way To Say Goodbye" & "So long,
Marrianne", Eileen D'esterno sang "Sisters Of Mercy", "Susanne", which
she's performed for 20 years, and one more good one I can't remember
at the moment, but will.
Really would like to put the video out, maybe write the same folks you
did for permission, since the sound and video came out splendidly.

I'd like to see and hear those songs. M&S isn't the place to write,
though; that's McLelland & Stewart, his Canadian book publisher. I
dunno, but I think you'd contact the music publisher. So I looked on
my best of CD; the above are all Stranger Music, Inc. except for
Suzanne (which is Project Seven Music). I've seen their website, but
I'm afraid you'll have to google. *
* The 'Inc.' is important, because Cohen's collected Poems and Songs
was also called Stranger Music (M&S 1993), and there are many online
mentions of it.

Yes, I have the nice hardback of collected Cohen from back in the
1990s, once or twice I've had to go out and track it down when it was
"borrowed"... a hard lesson I've learned: Try to never "lend" books or
records, they almost never return.
