Alannah Myles speaks out on breakup with Robert Plant - Decided against
being "Mrs. Plant".

(Dec. 22) For the first time, rocker Alannah Myles spoke out on her
relationship & breakup with Robert Plant, during a telephone interview in
Toronto. Rumors of their romance were widely reported back in 1990, which
lasted several years.

Myles said she strongly encouraged Plant to continue his solo career (in
1993), while "his partner, management and record company desired to take him
down the Led Zeppelin-remake trail. I was trying to assist my lover, my
man... with the decision." When asked how the relationship ended, Myles
explained: "It wasn't business that ended it ...I don't know why. I went
to America instead of going to England and marrying him. I sacrificed my
love life for my recording career. We tried to stay in touch... it didn't
work out. He was torn... "

what recording career???...she sunk so far out of sight. One hit does not make
a career. IMHO marrying RP would've given her career a major shot in the arm.
Imagine Percy doing your backing vocals and you see what I mean.

I don't know about that. Robert did the backing vocals for Tori Amos on
'Economium' and that sucked IMHO.

Thank God he didn't take her advice on the solo career!!!! What bad advice. How
can any man do good when his woman is giving him bad advice? Eeeks.

By the way, Neal, I noticed up on that Electric Magic link that Page and Plant's
favorite show was the one in Dallas. This confirms my impressions and the
impressions of other people who had been traveling with them: that Dallas may be
their best show to date .... I strongly urge people to find the bootleg! I even
more strongly urge them to travel by nook or crook to their next show there.

So all that was early 90's right? Last I heard, like around 95, he was
lovey-dovey with the Indian backup singer on the first P/P unledded stuff. I
think her name is Najma. What's up with his love life these days, anybody know?

ISTR reading something about her having a child not too long after she and
Plant broke it off. It was suspected that he was the father. Was there
any mention of that?

Davey (where's Goliath?eeh), all you need is one hit to retire on album sales & royalties. eh Look at the greatest two-hit Classic Rock Radio wonder Golden Earring. eh How much do you think they earned from Twilight Zone & Radar Love? To the putzhead who's never heard of Alannah Myles, were you reared on Saved By The Bell and Grunge?ehe She had a late '80s hit with "Black Velvet." A raunchy blues-fueled rocker that invokes "Jimmie Rodgers (or as I always thought Kenny Rogers? eh) on the Victrola up high." eh

Have you seen Alannah as of late? She's a frail woman who suffers from the same bone condition as Mick Mars from Motley Crue. BTW, there better be a tomato in that Grilled Cheese! eh Otherwise it's not an authentic NY Grilled Cheese sandwich. eh Davey just plotzed! eh
