yhanks steve. replacing florian wasn't what i had in mind for a new
improved kraftwerk.

I wonder, was the preformance, the music different without Florian?

More movement on stage, probably.

The performance was definitely different that the past 2 appearances
in Chicago-

A majority of the songs had small changes- like extended bass loops or
new clicks/pops.
The solos during Boing Boom Tschak/MNS were so short, by the time I
looked up the new dork was bowing
and leaving the stage. His robot wasn't taller per se as all of them
have always maintained the same height
for stage congruity- but the fact that a new head was even made right
away told me this was a permanent replacement.

My wife was like, maybe the guy is only filling in on this tour- but a
new head for 4 shows?
cmon.

The whole show seemed rushed. Hated the idiot behind me that decided
to RUIN my digital
bootleg by screaming "da-da-dow" over and over and over.

It's perfectly possible that Florian would have said well in advance
that he wasn't going to do the US gigs, so that would have given them
time to sort out the head. They wouldn't want to spoil the visuals -
after all, they have always been meticulous in their preparations.

Oh, and calling Stefan Pfaffe "the new dork" - really welcoming, that. (!)

Yeah, new dork pisses me off cuz he's appearing to replace
a key, founding member of the group.

this I will not stand for.

Awesome pictures from an awesome concert. Even without Florian,
Kraftwerk were still great. I regreted not seeing them in Chicago a
few years ago so when I saw they were coming to Milwaukee, I wasn’t
going to miss it this time. Drove in from Madison, WI for it. Thanks
for the pics! Here are more great pics at another website:

I thought the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee was an odd choice of
venue. It is normally a hard rock/metal venue. It is an old ballroom
in a not-so-great neighborhood in Downtown Milwaukee. However, they
pulled it off.

You know - if you look at the "Stefan" head it really actually looks
like the head they had for Fernando back in the 1991 tour:

I was right up front and that robot is not Stefan...
