Also I want to note that although I have a deep hatred for Korn, I am very
familiar with their "work." (if you can call it that.) And I'm crossposting
this for the benefit of others whom I KNOW will enjoy this. So without
further ado, I must slay this biatch--the levee has broken.

What the fuck is your problem?! How could you let those bitches at MTV do
this to you?! They have been brainwashing you mindless fucks for a long
time and you need to do something about his shit. They promote the
teenybopper boy bands and then market Korn as the leader in the fight
against them. Then they start a war between all the stupid impressionable
youth of America. They have you voting on TRL while they (MTV, Korn, the boy
bands,etc) rake in all the dough at the expense of the brains of the
children of America.

Korn is a horrible band that only steals from the works of such talented
artists as Sepultura, Pantera, Slayer, and many more. While these artiss
were also derivative, they at least turned the hair band shit around them
into something creative and listenable. While still MTV raked in all the
money by making the stupid ass kids think that hair bands were a musical and
artistic revolution, when really MTV was pulling all their strings because
when Nirvana came around, nobody cared about the MTV hair bands anymore
anyway (besides VH1 and the people still under MTV's 80s brand mind control
years later). MTV does what it wants with the stupid people of America, and
has been doing so for almost 20 years now. Their image based brand of
incognito racial stereotyping and watered down, imitation music has been
killing the brain cells of people like your dumb ass for longer than I've
even been on this planet. Simply put, MTV killed music and stupid fucks
like you love every minute of it because MTV has taught you not to know any
better. I hope your blatant ignorance is absolutely blissful, because it
only could be to a stupid bitch like yourself. You leave it up to Musicless
Television to tell you what is "heavier and cooler?!" Fuck you.

When Led Zeppelin was around, there WAS no MTV, and music was allowed to be
MUSIC. With the exception of pre-MTV shit like KISS, no one could get away
with having shitty music and selling millions of albums. Led Zeppelin
wasn't a band about image, the public created their own mystique about the
band, and their music fit in right with it. Led Zeppelin created THE most
innovative music since the death of Hendrix, and if anyone disagrees with
that, well I have two words, you figure 'em out.

And what does someone who is so obviously stupid know about "the old blues
guys?!" Jimmy Page created a brand of rock that undeniably stems directly
from the blues, but he evolved blues into something completely new and
completely different. And then came bands like Aerosmith who ripped it off
blatantly, but did it with style. Much similar to that shit you call music.
Korn & Limp Bizkit are only in it for the money, which is why they steal
everything they've ever come up with from people that MTV never has and
never will air on their horrible channel because they made good music which
often contained worthwhile, non-hypocritical messages.

And the next subject, Jonathan Davis. All of this guy's lyrics for over 5
years have been about the same damn thing. 'All this pain inside of me',
'Fuck you ass licking dick sucking damn fucking diarrhea slut', 'i hate you,
you hurt me', 'you fucking faggot', and that stupid grumbly shit he did on
that Twist song. Where is the creativity in any of his lyrics?! I could
think up that horrible shit in 3 seconds. And Wimp Bizshit is no different.
They think they are 'cool' because they think they are the orginal masters
of the hip hop meets metal movement. Anthrax anyone?! And wow, a song like
Break Stuff must be really hard to make, huh? When you preach all of this
negativity, and put it on MTV, what does it breed?? A bunch of mindless
zombies that go out and preach even more negativity. Stupid people like you
think it's "cool" to be angry and then you come up with the fucked up state
that the world is in today, for the sake of being "cool," because that's
what MTV tells you to do.

Jimmy Page versus Munky or that Head guy??!?!?! If ANYONE should have to
think on that issue, they are brain-dead and don't deserve to talk anyway.

Robert Plant versus Jon Davis?!?!?! Ditto.

John Paul Jones versus Fieldy?!?!?! John Paul Jones plays actual notes.

And above all, JOHN BONHAM VERSUS DAVID SILVERIA?!?!?! That Davis guy
SUCKS!!! He has no rhythm, no improvisational skills, no sonic booming
capabilities, no drum solos (because he sucks and they all know it),
therefore he can't play a solo with his hands because he has none to play
(but the probably couldn't do it anyway), he has no kick foot as far as I'm
concerned, he has no NOTHING!!

And slow!? So are you calling Korn a speed metal band? And is Lowrider a
fast song? How about Helmet In The Bush? Shoots And Ladders? Porno Creep?
NO!! These are all slow, boring songs!!! Maybe Zeppelin had MUCH more slow
songs than Korn, at least they sounded good, and at least Zeppelin
experimented with other instruments and concepts. Korn does the same two
songs over and over, the slow song and the not slow song that their fans
would call the fast song but then again they don't listen to things like

speed.

Like kingBenny said, Korn and Limp Bizkit would more than likely disagree
with you on everything you said there in your dumbass post. They are smart

hype. There were bands that had image: Bowie, Queen, Cooper, etc. But a)
mtv didn't promote their image, you found their image after buying the

I for one do *not* have cable and have never even seen MTV in my life.
Miraculously i *still* like KoRn....Wait a second, that would mean that i
dont care about "image" or that shit. I heard their music, and i liked it.

first. Like i said (in my other message), I have never seen MTV and i listen

Just because something is played on MTV its not real music? If MTV was
around with Led Zeppelin im sure they would have been played on it....As far
as i know, KoRn wasn't even popular with MTV until their latest album
"follow the leader" so i dont think MTV exactly created them....

Bizkit and Korn are seperate entities. Please treat them as such. Not
everything (probably not anything) that applies to one applies to the other.
With that in mind, bizkit *may* be in it for the money. Im not a limp fan,
so i dont know much about them. Korn is *not* in it for the money, although
im sure that they welcome the extra revenue (im not sure who wouldn't).
They've been writing for quite some time, long before they became "rich".
And im failing to see where Korn stole from? you're basing this on no facts
whatsoever so.....

form of communication. He is communicating all the pain he has felt, which

What zeppelin played is harder to play and takes more talent to play

If you guys want so dearly to prove that 'your' band is the best, then actually
give reasons why 'your' band is better than someone elses. Saying [my band]
kicks [your band's] ass is pointless and immature. Do you really think that if
you say "Ministry kicks Napalm Death's ass" that it's really gonna change how
the other person feels about Napalm Death? Hell no. Be realistic, give
reasons. Perhaps then the person may be interested, decide to buy a Ministry
CD, love it, and agree with you. Or better yet, be mature enough to realize

The truth about why korn sucks is that we have been suffering a drought this
growing season. Much of the produce that we would normally enjoy to its
fullest is simply not there. Especially Korn. The stalks in our area are
usually full of wonderful cods busting with succulent kernels. This year it
is weak at best. We need water to grow good Korn. That is my position on
this matter. Drought = lousy korn.

I was at a time a complete alternative fan. Loved to death Green Day and
Our Lady Peace (I still do). Yet that was it. I would only listen to those 2
bands. One day I caught this song call "Got The Life" on Mtv. It featured 5
dudes singing a song that seemed to me badass. I had heard of KoRn but never
really listened to them. Well i had a habit of watching TRL on Mtv so I
would catch the song just about everyday. I really started loving it! Got
The Life only ran so long though. It was later retired.
The next song KoRn put into production as a music video was "Freak On A
Leash". Oh how I hated that song when I first heard it. After viewing the
music video for the fourth time I loved it. I started talking with a friend
who had the Life is Peachy cd. It wasn't really good at all when I heard it.
I was still being eased into KoRn then. I talked with one hardcore KoRn fan
all the time and he was really supportive. He never gave me shit. I said I
liked KoRn yet owned not 1 single cd.
Now only recently (2-3 months ago) I purchased all 3 cd's thru my cd
club. I was loving Life is Peachy and rejecting Follow the Leader. I
listened to Self-Titled for Shoots and Ladders since I had heard it on the
radio. That prompted me to listen to the whole cd. Once again I hated the cd
but as I eased into it finally it became my favorite cd.
To rap up... Mtv and (my crappy radio staion that plays all trendy stuff
and very little NIrvana or Green Day or KoRn) WCYY helped me to see a band
that was without a doubt awesome. I didn't need Mtv to tell me LIP or
Self-Titled were awesome. I just needed a little help and a giding hand. It
was the only thing I ever gained from either the radio or Mtv though
unfortunately.

Im assuming you mean your opinon of better. Let me explain again: Ok, while
korn may not be as talented overall as led zeppelin, they are a different
style of music and cannot be compared imo. I like the emotion and sound of
KoRn songs, and it satisfies me much more than Led Zeppelin. You may feel
that KoRn sucks, but thats only one persons opinion. You're free to think
whatever you want, but you are not free to impose your preferences upon
others. So in other words, i'll still like KoRn better and you will still
like Led Zeppelin better. This probably wont change, so lets just stop
arguing over nothing.

Opinion? That's what this newsgroup and just about every other newsgroup is
made up of: OPINIONS. But the only people who would chose Korn over either
one of those far superior bands who I won't mention in the same sentence,

Popularity doesn't imply quality. Briteny Spears sells out shows all the
time. Is she some great musician? New Kids on the Block sold out all
their seats to every show. Where they great musicians? The last concert
I saw, more than 70% of the people were under drinking age. Point is, if
a band is trendy enough there will be plenty of kids to follow them. Do
you think all of those seats would've been sold without the trendy ass
losers?

& listen to? Im a fan of classic rock pantera, soulfly, sep.,Korn, limp
& even some 80's rock like acdc. Music is heard of many sounds &
meaning. All these bands & it's members has different lifestyles &
therefor different lyrics. You can not compare these bands with each

You are exactly right man. All bands are influenced by different things in life, that bring about the lyrics of songs. Whereas playing music, the instruments, is also about influences and also very much about "different-feelings". So it doesn't matter if the riffs are complicated and very fast like Led and Metallica, or if they are basic and very heavy/slow like Korns, each listener to their own. I personally dont like Led and Metallica all that much. I dont like the mind-rending, a-million-riffs-at-once sound of those band, and the lyrics do nothing for me. The songs of Led Zeplin are about mundane and banal topics that dont relate much to my own life. And Metallica is just not a very listen-to-and-bare type band for me. Whereas Korn is very much to my likings, in sound, lyrics (related wise) and heavy-ass-riffs. Thats my OWN opinion.

you listend to 80s commercial heavy metal, you would understand that the
Loads is basically a bad version of 80s commercial heavy metal. If you like
Load or ReLoad, then listen to Great White, WhiteSnake, Motley Crue or
AC/DC, its the same mid tempo music that is played better and is far better
written than the Loads are.

Kill em All and Reload. It was simpily put, a massively boring album, no

and 80s commercial hard rock and metal, and its boring. I have heard dozens
of bands that make music that is similar to the Loads, and they all are far

Actually Metallica sold more tickets and sold them more quickly during the
damaged justice tour back in 89. And most of the people who see Metallica
today see them for their older material.

If Metallica does not get off their ass soon and make a album of quality
music, preferably metal, they will just continue to spiral further downward
in popularity. If Metallica makes another Load style album of music, or
worse, then they will probabaly sell 1.5 million copies, and sell less

The songs on Load average about 5 and half minutes each. Bleeding Me (8:18)
and The Outlaw Torn (9:52) follow their pattern of extremely long songs.

It does seem that way, doesn't it? I thought their earlier stuff was the best.
I remember back in '86 or '87 when it was mostly the rock crowd who was into
Metallica. Its scary how all of sudden they are loved by all the little

Actually, no I don't. A friend of mine played Twist for me in 96, and I
hated it, This was long before MTV played Korn (as far as I know, did they
play LIP songs?). After hearing more songs, Korn began to grow on me, and I
bought their second album. Now, would you mind telling me where MTV told me
what was heavier and cooler? Did MTV tell me to watch Slayer over the
summer?

I dont know much about MTV. But does it have sections like:

1. Soul, R&B section
2. Request section
3. Hardcore metal section
4. Top 50
etc etc

Because Channel V is like that and I only watch the Hardcore metal section
which is called "Amped" and is broadcasted on Monday nights. Sometimes I
watch the request section for new film clips to bands like Slipknot and
Deftones. When the Slipknot film clip came out on Channel V it was competed
up against some Rap song (cant remember what it was) and it the ratio of was
Slipknot %60 and this other song was only %40. Whats MTV like?

If you like the newer stuff, I have a huge list of bands that you should
like, but my guess is that you like the Loads because it has the name
Metallica stamped on it. If you have ever listend to any rock radio, or any
number of 80s bands, you will understand why I and so many others are so
dissapointed in the Loads. Basically, the music on these albums comes across
as commercial hard rock played badly. Aint my Bitch sounds like a Guns n
Roses song, 2X4 and Better than You are almost like Motley Crue, Ronnie
uses a Van Halen riff and so on. At the very least, if Metallica is going to
play this style of music, at least do it well.

Jason had only one songwriting credit on the Loads, but I will say that
Newsteads bass playing is the only thing that has improved. As for Hammet,
his Jimmy Page/Slash style solos just dont work with the songs.

I actually do not think they sold out, they just lost their inspiration,
their ability to write good songs, and it seems that Bob Rock is a quasi
songwriter for Metallica even though his name is not on the credits, but he

I am taking exception with this statement you made.

Funny I shaved my hair the other day and I'm not pissed of with my self. Load
would be a great CD if it weren't Metallica. After being such a great band I was
expecting something spectacular. Instead I got the same old not as heavy music.
I still bought and I still listen to it occasionally. But I wanted something
that would kick my ass and instead I got something that any little band can do.
Still Love Metallica though!

Basically Karissa is right. I'm sad to say that on occasion I still flip the
tube over to MTV. Mostly stupid lame ass shows. When they do show videos its
there jams countdown with is top 20 r&b videos. TRL isn't that bad because Korn
and Limp Bizkit and Orgy have been on there before. Other than that it sucks.
They only half way decent show is called 120 minutes, it comes on Sunday nights
and show some good music and some crapy college band stuff. You should feal
lucky with your "Hardcore Metal section". I wish we had something like it.

"Dying style"? Care to explain yourself? If metal is dying, why do we have
so many great bands like Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Mercyful Fate, Lefay,
King Diamond, Death, Morbid Angel, Shadow Gallery and Nevermore still
releasing amazing albums. There's plenty more that I don't listen to that
seem to be getting aclaim, In Flames, Immolation, Monstrosity, etc. The
classic thrash band Dark Angel just reformed... Iron Maiden got something
resembling their old line up together, Dokken got the guitarist from
Winger and just cut a pretty heavy album with plenty of shredding. Metalfests
are popping up everywhere. We just had one here in Mass, and I was surprised
at how many people showed up. I ask again - explain yourself.

Why are most of you people all obsessed with image? What does Metallica
cutting their hair half to do with their music? All you people pissing and
moaning about how Metallica cut their hair *Ohh no! Gasp!* seem just as
concerned with a bands image as Mtv teenyboppers do!
