My wife is a real big Kiss fan, and she has gotten me interested in
them also. We went to their concert in Birmingham, AL in April as
part of their current tour. Anyway, one thing she wanted to know, and
got me curious also, what is the meaning of the number 3 on the back
of Peter Criss? Thanks.

He is of the Catholic faith and it stands for the Holy Trinity.

..it's his lucky number. He was the third member of Kiss.

I think it's his "lucky number."

That was one of my guesses, but I didn't know for sure. Thanks.

It's his lucky number.

He even told so in some interviews. Being the third member in KISS was just
one of a long string of incidents in his life where the number 3 was
involved. No word from the catman about the Holy Trinity, although he really
seems to be religious.

If you want to get technical both answers are right. Here is a quote from
Metal Edge, Spring 1997 when asked this question. "The number has been
fixated in my head for some reason, it's a strong number. It's the trinity'
and one of the strongest numbers in numerology. I was the third member to
join Kiss".

Well, if you really wanted to get technical...
Peter, as some of you know, has an uncanny ability to predict his own
future.
One may call it self fulfilled prophecy.
As well as the "trinity" and being "the third member of Kiss" everyone has
missed the boat on what the #3 stands for.
To preface the story, it was a dark night after a rehearsal in "the loft"
and the guys of Kiss were passing around a bottle of "cold gin" to warm
themselves up.
Each member predicted what his future in Kiss would entail.
Paul predicted that fans would sooner or later accuse him of being gay and
bald.
Gene - mounds and mounds of girls and twinkies.
Ace - being pulled down into the void.
*Peter* - "I will only write *3* Kiss songs in my career with Kiss.
And he was right!! (all the other songs he sang were written by Paul or Ace)
1. Beth
2. Baby Driver
3. Hooligan

Dear Hooligan:
You forgot Dirty Living. So much for your theory.
