Question about echos - Karaoke Mixer and sound bar

I connected my wife's Karaoke VOCOPRO Mixer through a Yamaha Receiver to a sound bar. She's getting an echo now. We had old stereo speakers before we got the sound bar, and did not have any echoing issues.

Any thoughts? Is it the sound bar? Could there be a setting related to the sound bar that is causing this? What about some kind of loop back?

If the system is trying to make simulated surround sound from the stereo
input, that could be what you are hearing as an "echo", especially if it's
more of a "bottom of a barrel" sound that a distinct echo...echo...echo.
Hard to say what to try not knowing the specifics of your system, but the
first thing I'd look for is an output mode selection on the receiver, then
on the sound bar. Loopbacks and feedbacks don't often sound like echos,
more like pure distortion. But simulated surround sound could be putting is
some delay in the "rear" channels.
