I just got one of these
http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/speakers/portable_amplification_systems/l1_model2/l1_model2_singlebass_tonematch_pkg.jsp
and I love it.

I found it used, so didn't pay full price, but it's worth the asking price.
If you have a place where it's hard to place speakers to get good sound
coverage and/or eliminate feedback, this puppy will make that job a lot
easier. Coverage is almost a full 180 (with the Model II -- I heard a
Model I and it's a lot less). Portability is wonderful (no more dolly!).
Set-up's a breeze. Sound is awsome. Bose doesn't give specs on wattage,
but it easilly beats my old 300W/channel 15" speaker system with just the
one subwoofer, and you can add another if you need to.

You can use an external mixer if you want/need to, but I'm just using the
"ToneMatch" box that comes with it. It also serves as a USB sound card.
Laptop connects to the Tonematch via USB. Up to three mics connect to it
via 1/4" or XLR connectors. The Tonematch connects to the main system
through a CAT5e cable (it comes with one about 6' long, but I use one that's
50'). Everything is sent to the main system digitally (again, this is just
with the Model II), so there is no interference and no ground loop if the
main system is plugged into a different circuit. You can get it without the
ToneMatch (using an analog input to the system instead of the digital one)
and just use your existing mixer (saving $500), but that eliminates some of
what makes it so awesome.

No, I don't work for Bose or any place that sells these. I just wanted to
share my find.

I have had mine for about two years now and LOVE it. I bought a bose f1 to ad more sound for larger venues and it all fits in the back of my crossover suv
