I just got the Treasure Chest with DJ Hype's Ready or Not remix.
"Fuckers" is beeped out, I was just wondering if all versions of this
track are censored, or if it's just the one I have. Anyone know?

Thanks, Dubya

you know what.. i think it's always been like that..

the only solution i have, is to digitally add it in.. if you dunno how to do
that.. ask!

Actually, the word is "niggas" that's bleeped out. And isn't a DJ Zinc
remix, or am I mistaken?

Matt,

All the versions I have heard have been beeped out. What a quality track it
is. Good purchase mate.

The version you are talking about was never released by DJ Hype but was only
available on dubplate. DJ Hype tried releasing the remix but the Fugees - who
originaly wrote Ready or Not didn`t like it because there were not enough
vocals. You are either listening to someone else`s remix (pretending to be DJ
Hype - there are a few around!) or you have a dubplate version. The dubplate
version is beeped out. It`s sad that the Fugees were negative towards the track
as it really was slammin shit and one of the best d&b remixes around.
Hope this clears your query.

DJ Hype released this tune on a white label (currently available at
www.htfr.co.uk) a couple of years ago and got into trouble with the
Fugees for not getting the samples cleared (bootlegging).

by the way the fugees weren't the original writers of ready or not, it
was a cover version of an old time classic.

Two things:

The beat that the Fugees used was sampled from Enya.

The bleeped out word by Redman is "Niggas" not "Fuckers."

A friend in St. Louis claims to have just found the vocal remix in the new
release bin of a local record store. Maybe they've reissued it. I haven't
found it anywhere. The original track is still available, though.
