I did find this after posting my message.
I did see a couple things, I don't often look at blabbermouth
anymore.
While reading a review on Amazon yesterday I saw a comment about how
Roy Khan has left Kamelot. So I wanted to see when, and if any reasons
were given. Not much is said, but the official Kamelot website no
longer lists him as a band member and so on. It will be considerably
hard to replace him. I really do not know what to tell them. (if I
could tell them anything, and have them see it, that is)
I also saw that Epica was listed as selling 4,800 copies of their
new album first week out. Which was over twice as much as the previous
one sold it's first week out.
It's nice to see some bands actually sell something for their
efforts.
Even though I haven't grown to like this album much, and consider
Design Your Universe as spotty. The Divine Conspiracy, though, that
one is standing a test of time.
As it is, I've only gotten a few 2012 albums, and really, so far,
only 2 have gotten a lot of plays.
The Alcest album is without a doubt, pulling away in total listens
and consideration for aoty.
I moderately like the Lacuna Coil album. It has enough good songs
for repeated listens, and is their best since Comalies, but it's no
Comalies.
Nightwish? The photos of the band have them looking like circus
clowns. (in the booklet.) 3 listens and I can't pin anything down on
it. Dark Passion Play had some good songs, not feeling the same about
this new one. I'll probably give it and the Epica albums at least a
couple more shots to see if anything can happen.
As for Overkill, not heard yet. I did like Ironbound, but found
limited time to listen to it. Perhaps 5 listens, so not really
expecting to listen to it a lot.
As for a couple of last year albums. Megadeth's 13 has kept my
interest at least some, while after initial love for Anthrax-Worship
Music it's falling away on plays. Good, but I don't know.
I still like Opeth-Heritage, Mastodon-The Hunter and Blood Ceremony-
Living With the Ancients. The Amorphis album also is still getting
plays. Considering 2011 top 5 as still top 5's.
