Sorry for the off topic post but I just had to get this off of my
chest. My best friend for over 25 years has just been diagnosed with a
very aggressive form of cancer and the news has hit me like a ton of
bricks. My friend means so much to me that besides my family, he is
the only other person that I would give up my life for without even
giving it a thought. We have been through a lot together and have been
there for each other in good times and bad. He made sure I was OK when
my father passed away and I was there for him when his mom passed
away. Like I said we have been through many trials and have always
come out on top. He/we aren't sure about this time though because the
doctors tests results haven't come back too promising. I cant imagine
him not being there one day, the thought really scares me. When he
told me, I put up a good front but when I left his house and drove
onto the hwy I had to pull over in the rest area just to gather my
thoughts and concentrate on driving home. I don't know how to deal
with this and it has really thrown me off. Its uncharacteristic for me
to behave this way. I am usually under strict control and never get
disheveled but I now find myself in unfamiliar territory. I think I'll
do a some meditation, clear my mind and get this under control before
its too late to do so.

Again sorry for the OT post but I just needed to get it out.

I am very sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully the doctors are
wrong, and it's not as serious.

oh ya, if any of you lived close to me, i would wanna throw a few
back(Rum n Coke in my case haha!!), and shoot the shit about metal and
anything else. the few friends i have don't like metal, so this is the
only place i have to discuss metal on a regular basis. i do appreciate
all of not busting my balls about being a Webbie btw, i have no idea why
i still have this PoS but i do :)

My sympathies, don`t really know what else to say to this. My Dad was
diagnosed with terminal cancer a couple of years back so I know the numb
feeling but it must come as such a shock when it`s a friend of your own age.
Best wishes.

At least it still works.
Do you like the new Epica album? I know you said you just recently
got it.

Still say that Mastodon-CtS and Amorphis-Skyforger are the two
albums I keep going back to the most this year. The album of the year
will be one or the other.

I've said this before, but I will say it again I consider you guys my
friends just spread out all over the planet. I hope he beats the odds
but regardless the outcome he is lucky to count you as his loyal
friend.

My sympathy is with you. Earlier this year, my best friend mentioned
one of his friends that I met more than 10 years ago when I treated my
friend to a King Crimson t-shirt at a show passed away.
Enjoy every moment you continue to have with him.

"Every time I scream, I'm killing pain."... [from Silent Screams;
"Close to You" and the second to the last song on the first CD of 2
from Nostradamus don't apply... yet... and hopefully not for another
ten years or more]
