A big H a p p y T h a n k s g i v i n g to all here in the
alt.music.judas-priest newsgroup! Whether you'll be staying at one's
house for Thanksgiving dinner or going to a friend's house or a
relative's place, enjoy!
Rob Halford's website has been sending me some deals including I
believe $39.95 as a good price for several of the packages released
earlier this year so worth checking out... and the deal(s) might
include a free copy of his new album Winter Songs.
Rock Hard Ride Free... this Thanksgiving!

It's a US holiday. I can't expect you Brits to know of it.

I`m aware of it to be honest, just don`t really know what it entails nor
what you`re giving thanks for. I always thought it was earlier in the year
for some reason. Us Brits prefer to celebrate the torture and dismemberment
of a traitor to the crown every year...even if we do insist on burning his
effigy instead of performing a ritual mutilation.

The original thanksgiving was basically giving thanks to being alive
another year, as it was a tough winter and the pilgrims who settled
the original colonies were starving and living off whatevr the native
americans shared and turkeys.

much later it was made into a national holiday. Basically we get
together (usually your extended family and maybe some close friends
and have a big meal turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and
so on.... it's also a day off from work for most people. Friday (the
day after Thanksgiving) is called Black Friday and is the busiest
shopping day of the year. Many stores have cut throat sales with
limited quanities (like a 1000 laptop for 500 bucks but only 10 in
stock) so people go crazy trying to get the deal and last year someone
was trampled to death. I think that pretty much sums it up.

It's just an annual thing. Families gather and have a big dinner to
give thanks for making it through the year.

Not planning on hitting any of the big sales this year. I've gotten
away from all the gift giving and such. I doubt I'll spend more than
$50 on gifts this year.

Tom

The way it should be.
