Hi, I hope someone can help me. Years and years ago, (probably about
1986/87) I remember seeing a guitarist and vocalist called Gregg Parker
playing a version of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" on a UK rock show called
'The Tube'. It was a cool version and the band was a Hendrix- type trio,
but what really floored me was that Mitch Mitchell was the drummer!

I've now found an old magazine interview from 1987 with Gregg Parker to
promote an album he'd recorded with the Mitch Mitchell line-up, (apparently
called 'Dangerous Curves'). In this interview he says "In England people
like Hendrix and myself have done well. Most people just impersonate
Jimi Hendrix but I take off where he ended, which has enabled me to get
Mitch Mitchell in the band"(!!!)

Here in 1999 this guy appears to have disappeared off the face of the
Earth but I would be VERY interested if anyone has heard this album or
has any information on it whatsoever, like how Mitch plays, whether the
album has any other Hendrix influences etc. I've trawled through the
net but can't find a thing, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot,

Simon C.

I really haven't heard of this album but I do have an album from the early
70's entitled "Ramatam" which is the name of the band. Mitch Mitchell, Mike
Pinera (of Blues Image and Iron Butterfly "fame") and a definite Henrix
clone female guitarist April Lawton.

Wow this sounds really interesting... keep me posted if you find out anything
else!!
Only other mitch stuff I got is the one Ramatam album, which is pretty good...

Mitch apparently played in a band called 555 Dragonslayer in the late 80s as
well... with a guy named Sky Saxon formerly of the 60s band The Seeds...
