I was hoping someone would mention that cut. You can actually hear it "under" the title cut of "E.L.". I t took me a while, but I
finally manged to figure out how to play it. ( Hal Leonards transcriptions and CD helped a lot) It is a highly underrated piece of
guitar work. Simple, yet complex. Jimi at his finest. (You still have to use your thumb to play some of the bass lines)

I remember the first time I heard it after buying Loose Ends. It blew me away , completely. I went back and listened to E.L. again
and there it was under several layers of guitars, vocals etc. I must have listened to that cut hundreds of times before and never
really appreciated what went into it. It makes all of us sad to know that kind of brilliance is gone forever. What a tribute it is to
Jimi that we are talking about it so many years after his death.

Didn't this one appear on the "Cornerstones" compilation - the one
that was the standard before "The Ultimate Collection"? Was that
ever available on CD?

I would definitely add "Isabella" and "Message of Love" to this list.
Aaron, if you would, could you dub me a copy of these songs. I don't have
Cry of Love, Rainbow Bridge, Midnight Lightning, Nine to the Universe or
War Heroes. I'd really appreciate it. I could dub you a bootleg. I have
about 10 different imported bootlegs on CD. If you're interested, get in
touch.
