Hello all:
Does anyone have any views concerning the Bloch Poeme Mystique for violin
and piano? Heifetz recorded it in the '50s, and it is quite a special
work.

Last summer Fuga Libera recorded the two sonatas for violin and piano by Ernest Bloch. The composer himself once observed that the First Sonata had shown ‘the world as it is, the frantic struggle of blind and primordial forces’, whereas the Second Sonata – Poème mystique – shows ‘the world as it should be: the world of which we dream... full of idealism, faith, fervour, hope’.
