A friend of mine just claimed that the night cityscape on the front cover of
Warchild is Melbourne Australia (my home town). Can anyone confirm this?
Google searches don't return anything useful. If it's true, then I'm pretty
amazed that I never found this out in the 28 years since the album was
released. Also, if it's true, why the hell did they pick Melbourne for the
cover?
I don't recognise the shape of the skyline now, as it's changed dramatically
since 1974. There is one positive clue though: You can see a sign in the
middle left that says "A-N-Z", which is Australia New Zealand Bank

Beautiful Melbourne. Home of the Queer.

Nope, I don't go where the queer go.

Idiocy.

You're taller now! You're were two years old then!

Aw, yes.

The back, of course, makes a lot more sense. Every song is in there somewhere.
I hear that's Shona Anderson as the long legged ring mistress. The gal with
combat boots must have been a goth kid 15 years before her time. How prophetic!

WOOOOOOOW!!!! What a mystery! Woooooooooo! Unreal.
Go get fucked on Demonbruen Avenue along witht the other street life.

I think you are bringing up irrelevant issues in your first paragraph.
Understandable considering you are not as gifted in Jethro Tull
history as I am.
Let's however get to the real issue here, yes the album is prophetic
in every sense of the word. Even many years later Ian Anderson
predicted the events of 11th September.
The man is brilliant. Truly touched by God.

Greg

something for all of us to aspire too, indeed.
I imagine that knowledge brings you considerable fame, fortune, and

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!
wow. complete insanity.
Cmon Casey, admit it, this guy has lost it.

BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA.
Greggie, you need to meet Joe Hecht and collaborate on a book "How To
Win Friends And Influence Morons".

?? Well, I am (or was) a free-lance illustrator. Album covers are NEVER irrelevant issues. Also I've been a
Tull fan since about 1972, have all their US releases and a number of rare OOP cd's (admittedly no bootlegs,
though). I've seen Tull -- I don't know, maybe ten times in concert over the years, but I'm not counting.
I've read as much as was available about them.
If there is anything I don't know about them, it is due to having a life. Also I have to take time to enjoy
other music as well, my tastes spanning 500 years of music history from the early Renaissance to modern day
progressive experimental music like Radiohead and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Tull however is at the top of the
heap and always will be. This newsgroup, however, is not. I think you have just succeeded in doing what the
troll has failed to do.
I'm outta here for good. You and the troll enjoy yourselves.
K.
Can't blame you, considering the 'gifted' statement from Greg. Don't know
if he meens it that way, but it sounds like he thinks he's the ultimate
Tull fan. No one is.
See Ya, Coco

really? kewl. my wife is, or was, as well. she had her stuff in the
Communication Arts Annual a couple of times (thats quite the honor in
the USA)
she did airbrush and scratchboard stuff.
What medium do you work in? She sort of stopped doing it when the
computers jus tkinda took over commercial art.

Howdy,
That's the best you can come up with? Not only are you not a gifted
musician, you are not a gifted debator.

And this is EXACTLY the point that I have been making. People, like
yourself who are not as gifted, well travelled, well educated and well
respected in the community like me are jealous of my great fortune.
You think that free sex and appearances on sleazy Yank telly shows and
tabby's are a measure of a man's worth to society. Well they're not
mate. You will never achieve all that I have in this or several
lifetimes. Take a look at my website to get a SMALL example of all I
have achieved.

People laughed at Jesus. And then killed him. I feel sorry for your
inability to grasp complex issues.

This Casey person is a troll himself. Don't encourage the trolls.

Greg

HOW DARE YOU EVEN JOKE ABOUT IAN ANDERSN BEING SHOT! IT'S BAD ENOUGH
THAT A NO-TALENT LIKE LENNON WAS SHOT BY A DERANGED KOOK, WE DON'T
NEED TO HAVE SOME LOONEY TAKE AWAY THE MOST GIFTED SONGWRITER, SINGER
AND PERFORMER IN 300 YEARS!!
I AM GOING TO REPORT YOUR POST TO NEWS ABUSE.
Howdy,
Whether or not you are a free-lance illustrator is not important to me
or anyone else who knows and cares about Tull. That album cover is not
about you, it is about Tull and Ian Anderson's vision.
And I am not interested in your Tull "CV" either. You cannot match me
in Tull knowledge or dedication. Have you visited my site yet? Even a
short trip there will give you an education that your 30 years of
casual Tull listening could not match. Read my indepth analysis on all
things Tull and learn.

I can see only one thing from this last paragraph: you are a crybaby.
First you try to impress me with your limited Tull "credentials", then
you claim you have a life. You are not a fan, you are an interloper.
Don't blame your limited intelligence and thin skin on me an my vastly
superior knowledge of Tull. If you can't handle an intellectual
discussion, that's fine, don't claim I did something that shithead
wilburn did.
Be a man for a change and not some wimpy nancy boy.

You sound like a teenage bird who got her heart broken and is now
running away.

and your amazing knowledge of actual music. You're quite astounding,
really. Please subscribe me to your newsletter, "How to Convince

I did. I saw you sitting around with your flabby stomach hanging out
because the Auxxxie power went down and you had no air conditioning.

I thought you were a decent guy. But these comments above make me wanting
to throw up. I consider you a troll from now on.
Coco
I must say I was a bit surprised that you didn't realize, Coco (and Howldog).
Okay, in this case maybe it was easy for me, since I have emailed some privately
with Greg. I just can say that you were right from the beginning - he _is_ a
decent guy (hi Greg! :-).
Cheers!
