Just saw this in the Feb. Art News magazine:
"L.S. Lowry's 1952 painting "Going to the Match" recently sold at
Sotherby's London to the British Footballer's Association (PFA) for
£1,926,500 ($3,120,930) the most paid for a modern British work."
