Here's a quiz to test your Tull knowledge. Some of the questions are
easy, some are hard. There may be more than one answer to some
questions.

1) Which two songs end in the word "bed" with no music after it?

2) Which album has the most violin in it?

3) Which song has the most swearing in it?

4) On what song does Ian play the most instruments, and which ones
does he play?

5) Which song has the longest name?

6) Which song has the shortest name?

7) Which studio album is the longest?

8) Which two songs have no leadtime (pause) between them?

9) Which studio album is the shortest?

10) Which studio album has the most tracks on it?

11) What is Jethro Tull's shortest song?

Have fun!

Black Satin Dancer and She Said She Was A Dancer (interesting)

Minstrel (?)

My guess would be Baker Street Muse (if you include the cute little
intro "Baker Street Muse, take one. <guitar> Shit, shit, shit, shit;
take two.")

Jack-in-the-green (I think)and I don't know which ones they are.

It's a tie between Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day and The
Story of the Hare Who Lost his Spectacles (syllables are even, but
...Hare... has more characters)

Son (I'm not counting names w/numbers in them)

Je ne sais pas

Grace (37 seconds). It's also one of my favorites.

and the new questions:

(this is the one I can answer)

What does the title of the "A" album mean?

"A" was going to be an Ian Anderson solo album (that fell right through
the rafters, now, didn't it). "A" stood for Anderson.

and the new questions:

Here's some more trivia:

When's Ian Anderson's birthday?

What do you get when you cross a drummer and a gorilla? (by the way,
this is not a good joke for a drummer to read. It's a bit offensive.
It's also meant in good, clean fun. My dad's a drummer, and I'm dating
a drummer.)

This is what I think, since it has violin in every song and five
violinists listed in the credits. Some others said "A" which I don't
have.

Yep :)

This question was a mistake because it had too many answers. I was
thinking Baker St. Muse and Grace, but it could also be Cold Wind to
Valhalla and Black Satin Dancer, as well as others.

At first I thought 'A' was a given here, but upon a recent listening,
I'm inclined to go with Heavy Horses.

Here's some early JT trivia:

What early JT 45 rpm single carries a mistaken name for the band, and what
was that name?

What JT song was censored/altered for singles release? What was the
offending language, and how was it altered?

I think it was "Aeroplane", credited to Jethro Toe

This would be Locomotive Breath. "Has got him by the balls" was edited to
"Has got him by the fun"

The name of the band was printed as JETHRO TOE. I seem to recall
actually seeing a copy of the single myself. If I have it would belong
to my uncle, who has many original JT records.

When's Ian Anderson's birthday?
8/10/42 same day as my dads!

The original 45 with the mistaken name of Jethro Toe was "Aeroplane" which
was penned by Mick Abrahams. There's a photo of it in the 25th Anniv.
cigar box booklet.

Unless my memory has totally deserted me, it was the other side,
"Sunshine Day," that was written by Abrahams. "Aeroplane" was written
by Ian with Glenn Cornick (under the name Len Barnard).
