I have EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH,
THE RETURN OF THE SPACE COWBOY,and
TRAVELLING WITHOUT MOVING.

I love them all,but I think EMERGENCY is the *can't believe I'm saying this*
fUnKiEsT...and I love the jazz on it:)
But I think THE RETURN is the best.

I've only got EOPE and TWM, 'cause I don't like The Return Of The Space
Cowboy that much. Yes, the are REALLY good tracks, but I simply don't like
it.

EOPE is the best!

The best Jamiroquai has to be the first, and often forgotton, album 'Crystal
Ocean'.
Every song on that album is as good and if not better than 'When you Gonna
Learn' or 'Too young to die', or even 'Space Cowboy'. Probably the best song
on the album and the best song ever is 'Majic Ocean (Blue Dgeridoo). What
does every one else think of Crystal Ocean? How come I haven't seen it in
the shops in the UK, I got mine from Sweden.

EOPE is the best, altho it has the worst recording. The recording
is *horribly* flat. But overall its the best CD by them

One of the knocks I have with the band, the recording level of the music
is so flat and low with poor stereo effect and no bass, its not lively
at all. The recording isnt nearly as lively as the music. The music is
great but recording of the music is low but jay's voice is too loud at
times. Listen to Brand New Heavies Brother Sister CD for an example of
excellent music and vocal recording and production. IMHO, they
have gotten better with each album's recording, with TWM having by
far the best music recording and production (jay's voice is not
recorded as loud either..which is good). Hopefully the latest CD is
even better, because TWM left some room for improvement productionwise

Haha please. I have a clarion CD player, bose speakers with individual
amps, 15in pioneer subs with 600 watt amp hooked up to them, so it
aint the system in my car ;-) Again, try listening to Brand New
Heavies Brother Sister CD, the clarity and loudness are much better.
You can also just simply listen to the songs off of TWM and EOPE,
the songs on TWM should sound louder, clearer, more bass, etc. EOPE
has a very flat sound to it.

oh! well sorry mr. high & mighty sound system king! U no have a Bang&O???..... U ain't heard nufin yet
then!!!
I neva said i didn't dis-agree with u'r BNH clarity statement - i agree, very nice & very constant - i
was just a little confused bout the 'bad jammy sound recording' bit... I guess i will have 2 listen out
a bit harder! not that i really care if EOPE has a 'plat' sound 2 it - the kick ass phunk makes up 4
it... we're chasing our tails here 'FearNo1'

Hm.. I'm going to be VERY unpopular here....

Synkronized is the best (!)
then it's
ROTSC
and then probably dead heat between
TWM and EOPE.

Remember, TWM has Virtual Insanity, High Times, and
Spend a Lifetime, which are some of their best tracks...

EOPE is cool, but not as 'techno cool' (which, sadly, I like)
as Synk and not as funky as ROTSC... oh well, that's my
twopence worth...

Ya know Stefan, I'm with you on this...well sorta...here's my rank list:

1. ROTSC- This record is still the best for me, songwriting and
production-wise. Pure funk.
2. Synkronized- Very sharp record, innovative yet retaining their original
sound. The cool thing about this record is that they use substantially more
electronic and synthetic gear on this record, but they don't OVERUSE it.
Fantastic chords progressions on this album. Planet Home is a FUCKING COOL
SONG...
3. EOPE- Incredible record, especially for a debut...the band doesn't
sound young AT ALL on these tracks. The production lies heavily on
reproducing a 70's analog tone though, and the tracks are more polished and
are much less 'jams'. A bit overproduced at times, but still excellent.
4. TWM- A strong record, but it (for the most part) sounds lazy. This
record is definitely aimed at public audiences, so tunes sound a bit less
inventive; but still very catchy.

I think Synkronized is an incredible album. I find the songs work very well
together as a collection. They have definitely progressed musically, yet at
the same time their groove is still the same as it always was. I don't
understand people's dislike with this record. The songwriting is fantastic.
And I find that Nick Fyffe did a fine job on this record...it's true, you
can definitely tell the style difference from Stu, but Fyffe's groove is
very welcome to Jam's music.

About the sound being much more commercial/mainstream - I don't agree. This
is the same Jamiroquai as it was in '92; they're just progressing.

It seems every time a band progresses and moves forward with their music,
people criticize it and say they are only doing it to "sell more records".
I'm actually really happy that Jamiroquai tries not to recycle their own
music.

Just my opinions. :)

ROTSC is just soooooooooooooooo FUNKY!!!!

The goove is just so BIG!!!!

You cannot listen to this and stay still.

EOPE is more jazzy, and is cool, but the acutual size of the goove is just a
little bit smaller than ROTSC.

Why'd you go putting down TWM??? It just rules,

I was given a nice 70s B&O Beocenter 4000 for free.. heheh. It's
lurrrrvely. Slightly
knackered in that one channel is at full volume constantly, but apart
from that...
Just saying. :o)

Hope you don't mind me gloating off topic... :o)
(More off topic stuff please! jk!)

On topic, I guess I'm not alone in thinking that Synk is one of the best
produced albums around? Sounds VERY smooth. Indeed.

Agreed, BCD does sound a little... odd.... can't explain, almost like
slightly out of time, but er.. not. Could just be the music.. But the
rest (!) are VERY smooth. But that's just me not knowing what the hell
I'm talking about.
