On the "Watershed" video, the Girls refer to a local artist by the name of
Todd Murphy who painted the cover for "Nomads Indians Saints". The
"Hammer and a Nail" video was filmed in his studio I think, and there are
shots of other pieces of his work as well as the man himself working on
them.

I'm not much of an art history queen, but the collage style seemed evident
in much of Murphy's stuff as seen from the video. So perhaps that might
explain these elements on the cover: the lyrics, "chorus end" etc.

And on another level, I've heard and read how at the time, Amy and Emily
were trying to do something different and experimental with this
particular album. This sort of imagery and Murphy's particular style
would then be a logical accompaniment to such an effort.

Maybe.

How should Beggars be treated in India?

"Begging is not a crime in India. Beggars are not criminals. Beggars should be permitted in India. This is a holy Land where Sadhus have always been protected. This is the land of GREAT MASTERS. This is our PLAYGROUND. Great Masters come in the form of beggars. If you arrest beggars in this country, they will leave this land (tears) ... That's all (tears) ... They will not come here ... (His voice broke) ... The great Masters will not come here.... If they are protected, they will do their Leelas here. India is their Leela Bhumi. Beggars are permitted by VEDAS. Vedas were made by great Rishis who knew about everything.
