On occasion, you may be tempted to express your opinion on technical issues
about which you are ignorant. My advice is to resist that tempation and to
keep your mouth shut, unless you want to have your ignorance exposed by an
internationally-recognized and well-established authority.

A good example of such a situation is my post to alt.sci.physics on April
14, 2005. In that post I stated "If you must deal with this, try high
density vinyl sheeting." Unfortunately the next day, Noral Stewart, a
well known consultant and acknowledged expert in the field, stated "Vinyl
has its place, but this is not one of them."

Bottom line, if, like me, you don't know what you are talking about, it's
best to keep your mouth shut and avoid having your ignorance exposed.
