Does anybody know what's up with Black Train Jack these days? Are they
together, or split up or what? And if they're not around anymore, are the
members involved in other bands?

Thanx...

unfortunately, btj have been broken up for awhile now. almost a
year, i would reckon. luckily, rob has a new band with brian...it's
called 9lives. i haven't seen them yet, but i am sure they are just fine.
last night at some show the fella with the blast tattoo was saying that he
has a band with rob vitale as well. i forgot the name but it was really
rockabilly. doh.

I think there date of breakup is disputed, I know someone who claims they
went to New York to see them play in January. Supposedly they still have
a couple tracks that have been left unreleased....

Is Ernie's new band called "John Henry"? I would assume it is, because
they are opening for H20 at a show in Lancaster, PA in a couple weeks,
and it says that John Henry includes ex-members of Black Train Jack,
Token Entry (ernie), Big Sniff, and In Your Face. Now I know that if
this is Ernie's band it will pretty much rule. Rob fronted a band called
Flathead Six, which may or may not just be '9 Lives' with a new name,
that apparently were fairly weak (a lot of covers, etc. Even big BTJ
fans thought they weren't too great).

I'd love to hear anything about these Black Train related bands. It's
too bad Black Train Jack broke up, I thought the song that came out this
year on the Lookout Punk Uprisings comp was awesome...

Later,
Matt

Im pretty sure that John Henry is Ernies new band. We are playing that
show with H2O in Lancaster as well and I was told that ernies new band
will be playing it and since thats the only band on the bill who s name I
dont recognize I can only assume its them.

BTJ broke up like two years ago. We tried to do a few local shows but it
didn't work out too well. Some memebers wanted to tour, others didn't,
and it was better to end it than to let it stagnate. Anyway, Ernie's new
band is called "John Henry", and Rob and I have a new band called "Nine
Lives". It's similar to BTJ style, maybe a little harder in some cases.
We'll be at the PWAC on Oct 11th, and Coney Island High on Oct 20th, but
that show may get postponed. If anyone has any questions, comments etc.,
or want a tape or stuff, please email me! Jig...@mail.idt.net. Later-
Brian
