Hello, I'm somewhat of a beginner with playing organ.
For shows, I use a 70's Korg CX-3. Though it's good, I'd really like to add
the sound of a real Leslie (can't bring an M3 or B3 to shows.. just too
heavy). I'm contemplating how realistic it might be to use my CX-3 with a
Leslie.

One thing I notice is the hookup of a leslie is different than a regular
keyboard/guitar 1/4" plug. Is there an adapter one can purchase... or does
anyone have experience in finding a way to make the connection function
well? The only outputs my keyboard has are 1/4" Lo and Hi.

Thanks,
Greg.

You will need one of the units that has the 1/4" input with either a 6 pin
or 11 pin Leslie output cable. The early model Leslies had 6 pin
connectors, later models use the 11 pin hookup. These units also have
buttons on them to control the Leslie rotor on/off functions. Speakeasy is
one company that makes an excellent product that will also make your old
CX-3 sound much better.

I agree. I just wanted to add: all you need is the Speakeasy and the Leslie.
The Speakeasy is a tube preamp built on the concept on the back end of a
Hammond B3 AO-28 preamp. You can get a pedal SE or a stereo, either, WITH a
*Leslie* output plug on the SE tube preamp.

You simply plug in one "keyboard/guitar 1/4" plug" from the Korg into the SE
and plug your Leslie into the preamp Leslie connector. These are wildly
popular (deservedly) to Hammond clone keyboard owners.

I own the stereo rack, (and is a keeper) though in the stereo rack,
obviously, one side or channel has the Leslie out. The tube in the SE will
make the Korg sound much nicer as said before. Though slightly expensive as
Class-A tube preamps are, you only have to buy one once, generally, with a
'lifetime upgrade' feature where if they have improvements they upgrade it
for free (last time I read about it), A very rare customer service in any
product.
