From Ernie Haase:

Let me give you an update that is way over due..............

Each day I have continued to start my day with this prayer....."Lord, You
lead and You guide. As of two weeks ago we did not have a bass singer.

All of us decided that if we had to start the year as a trio than we would
except this as the Lords leading.

We went into the studio as a "Trio" still looking for a bass singer but
planning for the possibilities of not finding the right one before Jan 2003.

On Wednesday we were singing in the studio ("The Border" in Franklin, TN)
and in walked Tim Duncan. We visited for awhile and then went out for
lunch. Tim expressed that he and his wife had rethought their decision and
wanted a second chance at the job.

I told Tim that he was the one we had our hearts set on from the beginning
and since we had not found our man yet and since he had not found peace with
his decision that we would pray about it.

All of the guys (Myself, Garry, Doug, Shane and David) and all our wives
feel that the Lord has answered our prayers. He has led us to this place.
So, we are happy to say Tim Duncan is our bass singer. :)

We are ready to move forward and are working real hard to make the Signature
Sound Quartet something you would be proud to have in your home.

Thank you for your prayers and for all your concern. We do not understand
this "bump in the road" but we are more excited than ever about our future!
As you know, I have no way of knowing the future. I cannot see the success
or the failure that lies beyond today but one thing I do know............ I
know who has been holding my hand. I can rest easy because I know He knows.
Everything is alright with my soul.

That's for sure, when God Himself can't seem to make up His mind.

<snip press release regarding the return of Tim Duncan>

I'd vote for Ernie Haase and Garry Jones as Southern Gospel Group Owners of
the Year. You think they can get that added to the Singing News Fan Awards?
:o)

A couple weeks ago when this was just a rumor, Rick Ryan asked if some of us
would apologize publicly for "slamming" Duncan over his earlier decision.
I'm not, because I still go by the fundamental rule that a man's word should
be his bond and there was clearly a lapse of that in this case.

But I WILL commend Duncan for doing the right thing now. Even if Haase and
Co. had rejected his offer, it shows that he had a change of heart and
regrets his earlier mistake. Hopefully, he will be more committed to the new
group now than he would have ever been before, having come through this
experience. I expect that Dunlap and Anderson have a stronger personal
committment to the group as well, having observed all this from up close.
They're going to have a great sound with this line up. I'm looking forward
to hearing them.
