I have been trying to find the words and/or the person(s) who may song them.
songs are as follows:

chorus to 1st song:
Beyond this valley I see the light of heaven,
Beyond this valley streets are paved with gold,
Just a few more mile and I will see my savior,
Beyond this valley there's a mansion that is mine.

chorus to 2nd song :
Near to thee, yes near to thee,
Oh Lord I feel so near to thee,
When I think about my bright new home.
a mansion I can call my own,
Oh Lord I feel so near to thee.

Thanks

That's definitely a Singing Cookes special, but I'm not sure of the
actual title or the rest of the lyrics. My aunt has one of their
songooks, next time I go over there, I'll see if I can find it.
Meanwhile, you might want to try their website. www.singingcookes.com

Thanks Clarence
I did a search on KAZA for the Singing Cookes but had no luck with the
songs I was looking for.
However I did enjoy the songs I did hear by the Singing Cookes.

The song is definitely a Cookes song called "Near to Thee." They
originally recorded it I think in the late 70s. I know they have a
live version on their 25th Anniversary live recording from 1987. If I
am not mistaken, it is available through them.

Go here: http://buymystuffonline.com/cooke1/index.cgi?ID=SWYJSZ&task=show&cat=The+Singing+Cookes+Product&pgidx=21

And scroll down until you come to "Live-Silver Anniversary" and the
song is listed there and you can order it from their site.

I remember this song being done by the McKameys, when Peg's other
daughter Sheryl (sp?) sang with them. (I believe she left the group
shortly after marrying a minister and that's when Peg's sister Carol
rejoined.)
