Hi--

I've started playing music for a small black church. I'm in charge of
picking the music as well. Can anyone recommend some upbeat, black
praise and worship tunes, along the lines of 'elijah rock' and 'God is
good ( all the time )'? Those are tunes that seemed to really go
over well, but I've run out of tunes!

Thanks,

Isaac

Hi Isaac
I wish I could help but I mostly know the sad ones like "wade in The
Water and Give Me Jesus. I am playing Give me Jesus for the
offertory next Sunday. I think it is fitting as the first verse in my
version is "In The Morning When I Wake Give me Jesus.
What other tunes do you play?
I was in Knoxville TN on Monday and was asking a Bible book store
clerk where I could look for some black gospel books and I can't even
find out where to start looking.
I have a recording of "Darrell Mansfield / Glenn Kaiser" out of the
Chicago area that I sometimes go to sleep by. The songs on this
recording (called "Slow Burn" ) is anything but Sad.
Let me know who this works out...
