Back in the '70s we used to hear "The Orrells" from Detroit. The
singers were Larry Orrell, Wayne Hilton, Mark Chadwell, and Gordon
Jensen (song writer).

I haven't heard anything about these in years. Can anyone supply info
about any members?

Thanks,

I don't know a lot, but I know the Orrells date back at least to the early
60's. I believe there were other Orrell brothers who sang with them and I
know that Jim Murray (Imperials, GVB) sang with them before he joined the
Imperials in 1965 or so. Larry Orrell recently sang with Terry Blackwood in
Friends IV, who released two CDs, but have now reportly broken up.

Others will know more, I'm sure.

I have an old Orrells album that dates to the 60s. From what I remember of
the liner notes, it sounded like this was their first album. The Orrells at
that time were all brothers, to my recollection.

Gordon Jensen is one of the all-time great writers, with such songs as
"I Should Have Been Crucified", "Jesus Will Outshine Them All" and many
others. What a great sound!
