Well I see from the press release that Jodi felt like he couldn't keep up
with the demands of singing that many shows every week. As much as the KH
sounds like a dream job, for a tenor, it would have to be extremely
difficult on your voice singing that much.

Steve French could pretty much pick anybody he wanted for the gig. Because
of Hosterman's reason for leaving, I would expect French will be looking for
someone who has a track record of being able to tote the mail 200 days a
year effortlessly, which means we can expect another round of tenor-dominos
to be coming up shortly.

Brain Free would do great with them, but I can't see him giving up
Assurance. Jay Parrack would be outstanding, but it would seem odd if he'd
go back to a quartet so soon after leaving Gold City.

Who would make a good fit?

It appears to be another "revolving door" reminiscent of Poet Voices.

I think it would be easy for Jay to come to Pigeon Forge.
After all, he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Other than traveling a little in January and February, he would be home
every night the rest of the year.
They do about 4 shows a day but the park closes at dusk.
They are not on the road and are home most of the time.
Seems like the perfect gig other than singing 4 times a day.

This is not so much the "revolving door" that Phil Cross had. Remember the
fact that 1/2 the quartet left to form Integrity down the road with Louise
Mandrell.

It has been the same quartet since then.
If a kid is straining his voice by trying to sing tenor 4 times a day then
he is smart to leave.

I expect them to make "tenor dominoes" an Olympic sport by 2012. :-)

Parrack would be the ideal choice IMO. Billy Hodges is another good one. Plus,
neither of these guys would start the "domino effect". :-)

Well, Parrack would match up well with the type of energy levels generated
on stage by Arthur Rice and he wouldn't necessarily have to sing as high as
he did in Gold City, since Arthur's pitch average probably runs a whole step
or two under Wilburn's. Given the the fact that he'd get to be at home most
of the year, Parrack may be interested in it.

By the way, when Adam Harman, Jodi Hosterman, and Jeff Chapman came to the
Kingdom Heirs, it didn't generate any domino effect in the industry that I
can recall . . . not saying you said it did, but I've heard that comment
before. All three of those guys stepped up from the regional level.

Hmm . . . who else?

There's Scott Rogers who sang with Todd Nelon's group for a while. I don't
know how well he'd be on a consistent basis, but he sounded great with them.

He was also very good with N'Harmony. I hadn't thought of him, but he would be
a good pick.

I thought Harman either came from or had just left the Perrys prior to
joining KH. While maybe not technically creating a domino effect, he left
a hole in the Perrys at some point or another.

Am I remembering correctly?

Yes, Harman was with the Perrys. I had forgotten about that. He left the
Perrys "to pursue other interests," according to this article . . .
http://sogospelnews.com/index/features/comments/1243/

Although Harman did leave a hole there, Justin Ellis was hired to fill it in
October 2002 a couple of weeks before the Kingdom Heirs announced they were
hiring Harman. Considering the order of the events, then, I still wouldn't
call it a domino effect since Harman essentially quit and was replaced
before he was hired again.
